Mike, I like and respect you...you have good knowledge on rugby but you tend to loose your mojo on Alberts and Frans Steyn...relax pal and enjoy your rugby...there will always be disagreements on selections...give credit when it's due. Don't fight with Mozart...who I also respect...thought of you my pal...my wife who just arrived from Moscow spent a pleasant 4 days in Salt Rock...I wish I could have invited you for a drink at Hops in Ballito...we stayed at a bed and breakfast...lovely coastline...we used to walk along the wooden footway and I thought of you "old Timers" ...Mike and Mozart...when you decease and Mozzie I might dedicate a small portion of my will and donate a bench in Ballito to Mike and Mozzie the stalwarts of rugby expertise in SA...a little bench overlooking the sea...in memory of Clever Mike from Ballito and Mozzie from from Chicago...missing you from SArugby forum. When Beeno comes to Banana country in his retirement he can sit down after a stroll on these benches and say...I remember you guys as he rests his weary legs after a walk on the beach...lolz...many a true word said in jest.

Seb it is amazing the heat generated although some are having a quiet laugh.I see some kbbs were getting their feathers ruffled re ref incidents in the abs match with the Poms. Its all part of rugby message boards - arguments over players, ref problems and much else. It's best just to have a good laugh and send one back at the chirper.

 Seb
Thanks for the idea - really appreciated.   I actually have a street in Ballito named after me.  Objected against it - but it did not help.
When I started working in Ballito it was a smallish town ending where the BP Petrol Station is now.   Many open spaces  in between.   After 1996 - while I was in charge of development - the growth rate became massive.   From a municipal budget of R80 million in 1996-97 - the Municipal budget in 2007-08 hit the R1 billion mark.
After I left the Municipality in 2012 the growth virtually stopped and the growth rate in the area declined drastically.   I think the reason is that the new management regards developers and investors as money grabbing enemies and would not do anything to promote the area as investor friendly.  So the investors went off to the Western Cape and they have as yet not realized their mistake.
If you let me know on the site you would be in Ballito -  would have contacted you and we could have had a lunch somewhere.   My home is in a small village 20 km north of Ballito called Tinley Manor Beach.  About 150 homes in total.
Salt Rock  is even nearer to where I live - about 10 kms away.
Hope your wife enjoyed it.   When Louis Luyt operated a hotel from his home in Ballito - he had a lot of visitors from Russia and they had a ball.  Must say it was not the cheapest accommodation in the area.

A nice thought Seb. Two ol' codgers walking on the beach & having a bench to sit on when they need a break. I guess we will all arrive at that point sometime in our life - if we are lucky
