What should be their game plan?

Should they play to their strengths and play attacking rugby...I think so that's the only alternative...

Facts :

1) The Canes defense is almost watertight.

2) The Canes thrive on attack as well.

3) The Sharks defense is poor...they leaked 2 easy tries against the Blues...tries that should have never been.

4) The Sharks have proved they can score tries...in the pre match game against the Bulls they outscored them 5 tries to 2. They also beat Racing in Hong Kong. They drew with Tahs in Durban. They beat the Sunwolves easily. They went to pieces against the Rebels. They played the right game against the Blues and had their defense been sound the score would  have been 2 tries less to the Blues.

I think if the Sharks can play the same game and improve their defense it could go close but if they try to close up the game the Canes will run rampant. The only way is to hit back, try for try.

Well my call is a high scoring game but the Canes will take it by 10 points.

Seb

Up to halftime the defense was  NOT WATERTIGHT and I am rather surprised about what the game tuned into.   Still think the Hurricanes will win - but it will be a tight one.

The Hurricanes forwards are NOT up to standard.

Well the Canes up until this game had the best defence in the super series...I think their defence has collapsed simply because the Sharks have taking them by the surprise of an attacking game which they are proving the point of hitting back and taking them on at the NZ attacking game...it's the way to go and Robert Du Preez taking points and putting them in the bag....the Sharks can win this game...the reverse could come Sharks by 10....lol.

Playing the same game as they did against the Blues the only difference is that there appears to approvement in the Sharks...hope they can continue...GO SHARKS

So sick of watching games ruined by shit reffing.

In just the 15 minutes of the second half i've watched there have been balls played on the ground not called, holding back of players after a charge down not called and on and on and on.

There's almost no point watching SR games in NZ anymore.

At what point is it enough? When will there be some pushback against clearly biased nonsense reffing ruining games???

It's not only in SR that this kind of nonsense happens. The Kiwis have been doing this kinda thing for a very long time. All you need to use as an example is Richie McCaw.

The have a totally different set of rules to anyone else on the planet.

What I find laughable is that wankers like Moolaa honestly think that they are the best rugby nation on earth.

Raiding other nations players isn't enough it seems ... they need to cheat on field and have as many refs in their pockets as possible.

They have no shame.

Hey it's an Australian ref (Nic Berry) not Stuart Berry and not a NZ ref. He was a scrumhalf for Reds some time back and also played for Racing and retired from playing  rugby due to severe concussion and it still seems that damage to brain effected him in this display...I counted 5 or 6 penalty calls in Canes favour in the last 4 mins of game...that's ridiculous.

How about Canes playing the ball on the ground. Yet getting a penalty. The commentators even say that it should be a penalty to the Sharks since it's a blatant infringement, yet the TV ref doesn't intervene at all when its clear as day that the penalty went the wrong way.

The guy is literally  sitting there watching an incorrect call resulting in points and does nothing?

All i can guess is that he is possibly not allowed to intervene in those moments? Does anyone know? Surely he is allowed to talk tot eh on field ref in that situation.

The question is. If he is allowed to intervene, why isn't he? It's impossible for him to think something like that is legal, unless he is completely incompetent, which one would assume he isn't.

So yes Kiwis, i'll understand when you call this "bleating" but for heavens sake just look at it from our point of view for a moment.

That alone cost the Sharks 3 points. A clear and obvious mistake with all the chance in the world to correct. The Sharks lost by 1 point. And this was just one instance, of which there were numerous in this game.

How is one not supposed to be infuriated by and cynical about these types of things?

People say that you should not leave it in the ref's hands but then in same breath agree that Rugby is often a game of small margins. You can't have it both ways unfortunately.

Also i see that now the flying kicks are even starting to happen when the player has landed after his jump and then does a standing high kick with studs up to fend off the tackler. Again, i haven't watch all the rugby in all the world of late, but i have only seen Kiwi players doing this over the last 3 years. Am i really that biased?

The Saffa teams should play in Europe. No jet lag, bigger paydays, fresh blood to play against and a much wider pool of better refs too.

SH might have better players than the NH but their refs are far superior and i think a lot of that has to do with accountability in Europe.

It's not a co-incidence that such a clear divide exists between the quality of refs in different hemispheres . They get the same training, they're doing the same job and the conditions are no different aside form some more mud.

It really is time for SARU to pull out of both SR and RC.

Moola, agreed the infringements towards the end were clear by the Sharks as far as i could see. I have no bones with.

Have not watched the game so have to rely on the Remarks of Moooooooola - Canes did not deserve to win that!

That is an incredible admission from ou mooooo la la la who might have an honest bone in him after all!

Folks the Get the Jarpie conspiracy continues and bent down under refs continue to employ their trade cheating out SA sides year after year.

The Cheetahs and Kings have proved that we can play in the NH. There is far more money for us in the NH and this would enable more SA players to stay in South Africa.

I doubt things will ever change. Leave the kiwis and Oz to get on with it. They will have a hard time of it given our huge financial contribution but really they will have brought this on themselves.

As a last shot we could try insisting all refs are from the NH with proven track records of fair officiating - the last thing these twits want but they might be forced to accept this.

Beeno has had enough of this BS decades ago

Beeno

I am not as dumb as you are - read what I said above about the Hurricanes winning - and I also took into account the ref assistance and the shenanigans involved in playing a NZ side in Ne w Zealand when I wrote the above.

Hasbeeno, the Kings “have proved we can play in the NH”? Played 18, won 1 and lost 17. Firmly ensconced at the foot of the table in the Pro 14!! Please divulge exactly which planet you reside on?

Moooooo  I am referring to things like the different hemispheric seasons , travel etc.As for the Kings they are pretty useless but the Cheetahs did just fine. The Stormers, Sharks, Lions and Bulle will among the very best, top of the log teams. With a fair deal ref wise they would be sensations!Yes our future lies north! the Kiwis fortunes would be heading south and they would be beating at our door all contrite n no time at all!Ou Moooo la la la  you getti ng the picture oak!
