Ol Maaikie...what will be Zuma's ultimate fate?

There are a few issues here and I will be brief.   The first issue is that the issue of the Precidency.  The ANC knows fully well that the Party cannot win the 2019  with Zuma as President,   Most ANC members think that the sooner Zuma is relieved from the post the better it would be for the Party.

So how do they get rid of Zuma as President?   They do not want a split in the party which could cause problems for the ANC - especially in KwaZulu-Natal and they do not want bloodshed in that Province or elsewhere.   The latter Province is already a killing field in the Province where the Zuma supporters are already killing off ANC members who differ from them.  

However, the talks are not a limitless exercise as a No-Confidence Motion in Parliament is on the cards already.

I would say that by Wednesday next week we will have a new President and Zuma would have resigned and  fled to Nkandla.  

I do not think Zuma will end up in jail - where he rightfully belongs,   By the time the appeals process is through Zuma will be over 80 years o f age and will be given an option of a fine, which will be paid from Stolen assets

Cleancut and Beeno will agree but sadly the rest of Ruckers intellect won't fully understand this...Mozart might but he will disagree as he normaly does....strangely enough Denny, his sidekick might but Rooiaas and Saffex won't ...because it has nothing to do with rugby...sadly they don't realise that politics has direct relationships with sport. The ANC has called a special NEC meeting tomorrow.   My guess is that Zuma is playing hard ball and refuses to resign.   The ANC is going to sack him at that meeting and the matter will then go to Parliament for the ANC's own Motion of No Confidence.   I guess Zuma has until Wednesday morning to submit his resignation should he change his mind on that issue.      

The situation is complicated - Zuma has been given an ultimatum to  resign within 48 hours but what will happen if he refuses.

*    There has been a Motion of No Confidence in Zuma scheduled for discussion on 22 Febr uary, but it is reasonable to assume that the motion will be debated  om Thursday 15 February;

*     The passing of the motion would mean that all Cabinet Ministers must resign as well and the Speaker will become the Acting President leaving the Government in limbo

*     The Parliament can then meet on Friday to elect a new President - but the combined Opposition will have nothing to do with it,    They will walk out or vote against Ranaphosa - since they want Parliament to be desolved and new general elections held.

*     SONA will then be on Monday - allowing for the Budget speech on 21 February

However, Zuma is a rogue and he may try a really terrible stunt.   He can desolve Parliament and  promulgate new elections before the No Confidence debate.    Zuma believes that he is massively popular with the voters and may use that stunt to prevent the ANC from losing control - in other words he would use the process to in his view save the ANC from itself.   If he takes that line he would have to call for a general election on Wednesday,  The trouble is that there is legally nothing the ANC can do to prevent such actions by Zuma,   They will no doubt run to the Constitutional Court, but it is uncertain what will happen then,

So a very tense political week lies ahead this week.

Move a long Zuma, its time for the next piggie to get his snout into the trough.
