In Rassie we at least have a coach who is good enough that we can actually assess players again.
Don't know about the rest of you but Coetzee was so poor that trying to evaluate players playing under him felt like a pointless task.
Every discussion we've had about any Bok players for the last two years could be ended by simply, and rightly, asking "Well who was any good?"
Maybe Rassie won't be the guy to lead us out of the mist but at least he'll help us understand how lost we are.
Rassie is a smarter coach by far. He saved Peter from himself when he coached up our World Cup team in 2011. That team should have at least reached the final.
My only concern is can he take the pressure? He doesn't like to be in the spotlight. He can be a bit gimmicky. But, for sure, I do expect an upswing, eventually. Is he a team builder? A coach who can build a winning team is very rare. Jake and Meyer are the only guys of that kind we have, to date. Either way, here's hoping Rassie can get these players playing above their station.

My point is just that he will have a game plan we can finally talk about players again because they won't be covered in a giant blanket of confusion and shyte coaching.
Agree with Sharkbok, his performance under pressure will be key. His selection strategy will also be interesting in light of transformation targets etc. Hopefully we don't see more stuff like picking Jantjies for a wet game...
