One couldn't have scripted

a simpler programme to ascend the rankings.

The haphazard French at 8th, and the even more pathetic and disfunctional Pumas coming in at 10th.

We've all seen how far the standard of sport in general has fallen in Australia. Let's all hope that the Ozzies don't find a little momentum and continue where they left off in the second half. We'd much prefer to face the same bunch of chumps that lost to the Scots. 

Now ... what do we do about the top 3 teams in the world?

We know that merit selections are a thing of the past. We also know that at least 25 players of the current Goat squad do not belong there. How do we advance with this team of 2nd and 3rd stringers? Is it possible?

Bribery? Is that how we obtained this years test fixtures ? It is afterall a strength of ours.     

At least we can be thankful that we don't face the Scots ... nor the English this year.

A win against the lowly ranked Italy and France later this year should have us feeling like rugby gods before long.

Perhaps we should just get used to the idea of 4th spot ... that is until those above us fall away like the Ozzies have.

I will accept the fourth spot - but it is unlikely to last with the present scenario in place.
