I wanne keep this as light hearted as humanly possible.The next promotion/relegation match we will see will be between the Stormers and the Kings.There are some serious issues.Lets take a look at the possible night maire that could unfold infront of the Stormers fans.
We have hoorkers,playing flank,flanks playing lock,centers playing wing and a few players starting to look a bit long in the tooth.There is so much politics inside rugby these days in South Africa regarding skin color(not that it will ever change,it will just get worst)An out of his depth Scarra is enjoying the oppertunity of a life time.
If the Sormers dont pull a cat from a bag this Saturday...its going to be a very long and costly season.The star player(s) might get offered a more lucrative deal else where.AKA Eben Etzebeth...and thats right I wasnt talking about Schala.
We dont know the full truth behind the matter but there has been some serious allegations in the local top South African paper the Rapport regarding financial indiscrepancies(between July and October last year.)Some say the union is broke...others fully support the notion that they have millions at the disposal.But one thing remains...Rassie Erasmus left in a flash,with tire marks in the main carpark still visible from space re these allegations.
Coetzee is terribly out of his depth.One golden rule in rugby...never ever play a player out of position in order for quick fix results.Namely,the lock scenario.What is going on there?Elstadt to me was a Bok contender playing on the flanks...now I hardly thinks he gets a look in.ok Eben is injured but isnt it the coaches responsibility to ensure that efficient players are availible.I hear of young local talent...but they all seem to play for the other clubs.
And I fear because of politics and finacial support Deon Fourie has to sit on the bench...In my oppinion Scarra needs to sit on the bench.
Because of bad mangement...lets take a look at the player exodus from the Stormers:Habana,Van den Heever,J Fourie,J Sadie,P Grant,Joe Pietersen,A Bekker,...do I need to carry on?
My point is,if the season carries on with the same results,the Stormers are going to find themselves in hotwater.And maybe,just maybe thats a good thing.How else would they justify the sacking of the only colored coach in South African rugby atm.If he doesnt go and things get worst,a lot of the new guys will be gone before we can say boo or baa.Deviliers has only this season left.So does Burger that all ready looks tired.
