I remember this tackle, Wales were looking like they could possibally win the game towards the end of the match. Shane Williams was making lots of clean breaks and potentially going to win the match for Wales, then Frans Steyn buckled him

Just a question based on your following statement:-

Who did he make the "lots of breaks" against?   Was Steyn deficient in covering the lots and making the one?
 

Yes, Shane Williams....one of the fastest and most evasive player in open play in world rugby...FS cannot be slow Ol'Maaik...that's nonsense.

Steyn is slow - he has slowed down considerably since the time of that match.  My problem is that Steyn always had a defense problem going back years - eg he missed four tackles in the WC finals in 2007 as well.
During Super 15 this year he on average makes 3 tackles and missed 1 as a ratio in every game he played in.   A missed tackle ratio of 25% is totally unacceptable in any backline situation.
Then there is the case like happened this year when players ran around him without him even attempting tackles - Harris twice in the Reds game and De Klerk in the Lions game.   The latter is entirely due to the speed problem.     

Another chalice of piss, vinegar and spite. Man Clever, life must be miserable in Chez OOm.

It is not miserable when you realise reality and not live on dreams.   Every player in his career makes good tackles, makes average tackles and misses tackles.   That was a good tackle - but reality force me to think about not the one incident - but what we see most of the time at present.
I am not happy with the Steyn show at present - he has too many mistakes in play to be a sound player for the Springboks in future.   Bitter no - disappointed yes.  Ever since his return from France Steyn was a disappointment for me after I had such high hopes when he came back..   
And at present things do not have a rose tinted halo - it is more of a down-to-earth scenario - where the same player does not perform up to standard and misse s 25% of all attempted tackles - while players beat him with speed as well.
So keep up the dreams and forget about the present if that makes you happy. 

In your case OOM I recommend dreams.
