For those who can't see perhaps this quote from rugby 365 helps.

10 - Frans Steyn (Sharks):
Another late change to a matchday squad  - after Patrick Lambie picked up some kind of viral fever - and made a huge impact in a position where he is not playing regularly.
Bubbling under: Jacques-Louis Potgieter (Bulls)

Its ironical. One poster claimed Goosen had the best flyhalf game for a SA flyhalf this year.....a laugh...only for the poor dope to see Fransie and Potgieter rated above him. Embarrassing.

Dishonest Mike has a deep rooted hatred for Frans, Alberts, Morne and all other Bulls period. Its not about facts, not about what anyone else says, just plain bitter hatred. He even called video footage proving him wrong a wild distortion of the facts, only stats have the truth apparently. Your words are wasted on the lost; Sowing seed on concrete.

Actually Mike is a serial liar.....it's beyond the norm. The poor old coot has to have some pretty deep seated insecurities.

Ok - the two liars/stooges are at it again.   All indications are that the only reason for the a selection of Steyn was that he kicked the goal kicks - for the rest his team was the winning one.   Could   have been vastly different if the Lions took advantage of Steyn's wild passes, his ball spilling and his defense deficiencies.
Dimwits are around here - and apparently in the media as well.

Oh dear it seems even the coaches are in on the Act Clever. Here's White:

"I think he was fantastic," White said afterwards.

"He got told just before kick-off he's going to be at 10 and again he just showed how good he is.

"I've got confidence in him and it's amazing, he just slotted in, did what he had to do and it wasn't just his kicking, it was the way he played the whole game."

Steyn was also crucial on defence and his boss felt it was coming together at the right time as the 26-year-old seeks a return to the national team, 18 months since he last featured in the green and gold.

"It's the third game in a row he's played 80 minutes and obviously that's very pleasing not only for myself, but I'm sure it's pleasing for the South African selectors as well," White said.

Waaaaahahahahahahahahaha....you wouldn't look like Wyle E Coyote all the time if you were just truthful. Game, set and match

Steyn looks to be in a really good space mentally and physically. Danger time for opposing teams. I am not yet settled on where he should play in the Bok setup.

On another note, and no less dramatic, Moz I see is about to hit 6000 posts

Six thousnad is the product of total retirement Matey....stepped off my last Board a year ago after 25 years. I agree the Fransie position isn't settled....but I wouldn't automatically assume flyhalf was a one off thing. The guy has all the physical equipment to be a dominating 10.....and now the mental maturity seems to be developing under Jake.

I have made detailed notes of what Steyn and Alberts produced in the game - by watching the full game a second time and will gave a full description of it tomorrow on this site.
From glancing through my notes I can understand why both were given lowish ratings for their performances by all the states based evaluators.  Penalty and try conversions are NOT the only requirement of a flyhalf and it is a pparent that that was the only thing that counted in this case.

First Frans is the most notorious ball hog in the whole world now he is a frantic pez dispenser? Please, make up your mind! What makes your statements so utterly ridiculous is that there is little coherency or balance; it's always one extreme or another - x is the worst on planet earth, y is the greatest ever because these tortured stats tell me so. Then there is misquoting and twisty other member's words. It doesn't paint a pretty picture.

Stop being personal and go and study what Steyn actually produced at 10.   He was hogging balls badly in the Hurricanes game - and I clearly state that his ball distribution has always been questionable - something proved beyond a shadow of a doubt again on Saturday.
He is not a 10 and highly questionable as a 12.  Would like to see him playing at full back.

You have proven nothing of the sort Michael. Irresponsible use of statistics and omitted details do not support your assertions, only discredits them.

 Yeah, the damn stats....

DomMike was trying to say how poor Frans Steyn was on defence and how good Goosen IS on defence... Limiting his stats of course to one game only... But what about some stats from the season so far....

TACKLES MISSED
Season so far

9: Francois Venter (Cheetahs)
7: Aaron Smith (Highlanders)
7: Ben Alexander (Brumbies)
7: Cornall Hendricks (Cheetahs)
7: Jackson Willison (Blues)
7: Jean Cook (Cheetahs)
7: Johan Goosen (Cheetahs)
7: Stefan Watermeyer (Lions)
7: Willie le Roux (Cheetahs)

KICKS FROM HAND

Round 4
16: Sias Ebersohn (Force)
11: Beauden Barrett (Hurricanes)
10: Demetri Catrakilis (Stormers)
10: Frans Steyn (Sharks)
10: Johan Goosen (Cheetahs)
10: Piri Weepu (Blues)

Season so far
43: Willie le Roux (Cheetahs)
36: Marnitz Boshoff (Lions)
34: Johan Goosen (Cheetahs)
33: Francois Hougaard (Bulls)
31: Faf de Klerk (Lions)
28: Beauden Barrett (Hurricanes)

So, Goosen is this wonderful running flyhalf, that looks for contact and isn't afraid of tackling???

A word of advice for the stats whores. Stats for one or two matches in isolation tell us nothing about a player. But statistics is a useful tool to make comparisons in terms of performances over a period of time and trends.

And the TREND so far this season is that Goosen is one of the players that kick the most from hand and misses the most tackles.

I did not omit anything and the stats actually support the descrption I gave iro of the game on Saturday.   I did include two incidents which you alleged I omitted - the third one must have been so insignificant that I did not note the involvement of Steyn in it.   It could have been that other players were involved in that incident you said I missed in which event it is not always clear what the role of individual players were.  I nevertheless asked you to provide details and was prepared to include that alleged omission on receipt of your further detailed comments.
The rest described exactly what happened and I am sure I was 100% objective in the descriptions given.   No assumptions on my own  and just what actually happened and the results of what happened.

What did you not understand?  You said I left out three issues where Steyn was involved.  I said two issues were included  and gave the times they occurred during the game - the third one I did not notice and asked for full particulars from you.
I went on to say it is not always possible to see what happened when a number of players are together involved in an incident and also not what the role of individual players are in that case.
I asked for particulars on the incident mentioned by you and said I would include it on receipt of full information.   I am still waiting - are you going to provide same or no t?

"I am still waiting - are you going to provide same or nt?"

Am I going to spend a few hours going through the game frame-by-frame again to provide exact details only for you to lie and deny it exists or insist video footage is a warped distortion of the truth? Simply put, no. Everyone else knows what the truth is, that is good enough.

Sun if you find the information to contradict Clever, he will simply go radio silent. And then when the posting is off the Board he will remake his original point. He thinks he is gaming everybody. Frankly it's all a bore and an irritation....I have no interest in ever engaging him again.

Why don't you not find it - I really would accept it as fact if you prove it by being factual.   Anything else would be hilarious and really enjoyable.  I have never gone "radio silent" - I have always admitted when I am wrong or made a mistake and apologized for it.  Those are facts.    However, I do not buy into bullshit allegations and then apologize for being wrong.

Funny thread!
Here we have Moffie . . . the manipulative, childish and deceitful old fop and the single biggest liar on these message boards bleating about . . . wait for it . . . someone else lying! Pffffffffffffhahahaha!
Then we have the long lost mole Truth_Fairy talking about rugby . . . which is a bit like Jacob Zuma talking about higher education . . . or Michael Jackson talking about babysitting! Hilarious! We haven't had a mole infestation for some time now . . . things must be pretty dead over at Kamp SS . . . even by their laughably poor standards!
Finally, the ignorant, rude and obnoxious Dim Sum stamping his little foot in self-righteous indignation while demanding an apology!
A lot of hilarious irony on this thread, you couldn't actually make some it up! keep it up, chaps!

"You know what you are doing, don't you?" .....is as close as dammit to your bleats. And you have never really recovered from that rejection....now you are all teeth and spittle.

Still if you can point me to one example of a moz lie, I will correct it and apologize.

Awww, did someone kick one of your master's butts? And now you are here to "protect" them again? Taking into account your lack of intelligence, I believe it is you in need of protection...

Talking about education: Have you figured out the question Mozart asked you a few times? Integrating x², I believe? It is like in school level... duh!

It is also quite noticeable that not you, or either one of your two masters have been able to give a sensible reply to any of my rugby posts so far! Every time you or your masters get schooled, you resort to the "mole" defence... It's really getting old!
