Bostoff missed the kick that would have taken it into overtime - tough one to take. Lions fought back well but fel l short.

Taute did 4 things of note today.
1 He scored a try, with an inside step, after a quick pass by Kat. It was a decent finish but hardly difficult.
2 He got beaten to the outside and de Jongh cleaned up his mistake, as noted by the commentators.
3 he blew a try by dropping the ball with the line at his mercy....and then got completely gassed by Mapoe on the counter....an absolute cart horse.
4 he followed up an up and under like a robot charging straight past the receiver an opening WP up for a dangerous counter.
Poor stuff taken as a whole. So vetsak is that your idea of good centre play?
He was the lowest rated WP player. Here's 365
12 Jaco TauteKnocked on a certain try, but then again scored on - a mixed bag from a talented player.5/10

Taute is bog ordinary. Your typical big, slow center. Of course Dave actually fancies him at 15 for the Boks. Can you imagine a guy this slow launching a counter from the back or having to cover a fast attack across field?

Vetsak will have you believe Taute is a "class act' and should be rushed into the Bok side as a replacement for JDV.

If Taute scored lower than useless de Jongh then those that compiled the rating should be shot.
Taute scored a good try the player you had issues with. Typically he proved you wrong for had he not scored that try with a great line taken and a good step, WP would have lost.
Ordinary player he is not....he is a far better centre than de Jongh for instance.
Moffie your rugby calls are always pathetic.
You and Sharktwat are equally ignorant.
It was good old Sharktwat who said Taute was all crash ball and nothing else.....what an idiot

"a mixed bag from a talented player".
Not really a comment I would use to prove Taute is useless.

I had great hope for Taute, but as promising as he has been he has never developed his skills, we have plenty of players like him, we need players with more skill.

Taute needs to stay injury free and then we can see what happens.
Doid anyone notice how Kolbe made some excellent long scrumhalf passes? Man he could trouble a lot of loose forwards they would need to watch him like a hawk!

Taute has been out of the game for ages and has shown glimpses of his pre injury form.
Some twat on here, Pakie I think has me calling for Taute as the Bok 15....what a bloody lie.
Taute would make my Bok squad as cover for centre and 15

Taute would make your Bok squad based on the player he was 2 or 3 years ago, before that nasty knee injury last year. That's your problem Dave. You can't adapt your views on a player.
Taute shows up at 15 a lot on these endless Bok sides you keep churning out. And the fact that you would have him as cover for 15 for the Boks confirms that you fancy him as a Bok 15, does it not? So how is that a lie?
He's an ordinary provincial player. Capable but nothing special.

Much, much too slow for fullback. He could disguise that somewhat at centre, but as we saw when he was chasing Mapoe, his lack of pace is a massive vulnerability. He will drift in the provincial ranks for a few years, and then disappear. Another Dave pick that never was.

No Pakie as I said he has shown some good form so don't speak shit.
As for adapting my views on players what do you say to me initially rating Werner Kruger and then conceding he was average....what is that exactly huh?
Pakie you are profoundly stupid......Taute is in my squad as cover for various positions and you conclude I am starting him. Good one

Moffie your take on anyone chasing a player or lacking pace is a load of shit. Much like your inaccurate take on Serfontein chasing AC.
Your takes have stuff all to do with the facts and everything to do with your warped perception of a player

If you have him at cover for 15, that means if Willie gets injured you'll want Taute to step in. He is clearly your second choice, and you also pick him as your second Bok team fullback when you make these lists of 1st and 2nd and 3rd Bok teams you like to do. I didn't say you were starting him. I said you fancy him as a Bok 15, which you clearly do. Whether it's first choice or second choice, you think he has what it takes to play test rugby at 15. Clearer now? Perhaps if you stop blustering and insulting for a minute and stop to think these tedious explanations won't be necessary.
Werner Kruger, big whoop. When last was he any kind of a factor? Four or five years ago?

Fraid I agree with the majority. Taute is nothing special.
The try he scored wasn't difficult. Anyone could have scored there.
An average Provincial player. Nothing more ... and definitely NOT A CENTER.

Taute is just another rugby player that has bulked up to much and he no longer has a step. He had allready lost his step before injuring himself but now it may be less than what it was
