A survey was undertaken by News 24 to determine what the public has identified as the major problems the Springboks must overcome:- The public identified the following major problems:- AIMLESS KICKING. This issue has not been addressed at all by Meyer - he insist on a kick and chase game - but the players selected by him ha one thing in common - they specialize in aimless kicks. It is absolutely guaranteed that 70% of all kicks of Morne Steyn and Pienaar will enivtably be aimless. Aimless kicks are to far too to be effectively followed up - they are to near to the center of the field - allowing the opposition too much time to use the most effective counter-attacking strategy available. Add to that brainless Kirchner - and there can only be a massive problem with aimless kicking and the public is right - Meyer does not regard aimless kicking as a problem. The only solution is top get rid of Morne Steyn if you want to get rig of aimless kicking - and the same applies to Pienaar and Kirchner. BREAKDOWN BALL RECOVERY 28% of the public has serious reservations about this aspect of the game. Meyer has recognized this as a problem and got a Scottish Consultant to help out. However, the problem remains. The ball is slowly recovered - if at all recovered - and by the time the ball gets out the defence of the opposition is organized and the Springboks get no advantage from the ball recovered. The problem is again entirely at the door of Meyer. He picked the worse back row in any international side and expect miracles. They are slow and physically totally ineffective in ball recovery. That has been identified many times over - but Meyer seems to not realize it. His selections is the reason why this aspect of the game SHALL NEVER CORRECTED. DEFENCE OUT WIDE 14% of the respondents are worried about this aspect. There are some reservations about Engelbrecht's defence - but the problem is NOT ENGELBRECHT ALONE it is the fact that neither BASSON NOR KIRCHNER CAN MAKE ANY TACKLES TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. And they are favoured by Meyer as his full back and wing. Here Meyer has managed to dig the third hole for the Springboks - so the poor public will just have to accept that Meyer is punishing us continuously. The remainder of the respondents are worried about counter-attackes by players like Folau and O'Connor and even Beale - so where are we going this week? Absolutely disastrous and Meyer made absolutely sure of that. Another question - why can the public see with their own eyes what the problems are - and Meyer cannot do so? Is he dense?
