hehehehehe we continue to hope. There seems to be alot of calling out names in Bloggs and squaring up for a fight. There used to be a blogger here (forgot his name) who was brilliant. He was some sort of former coach with alot of American Football knowledge. I enjoyed reading his comments. Anyway, back to Brilliant, original ideas hiding in plain sight

Make politicians who vote to go to war put a family member in a "teeth" or combat unit even if its just as an observer or any politician who wants to go to war has their name thrown into a ballot and drawn at random then they get to have all the fun and "glory"

brilliant idea Wardad - loved Michael Moore's stalking the US Congress members to see if their own sons would like to join the war in Iraq - too funny the Sheepish looks and trying to avoid Moore.

Democracy is a grossly inefficient form of government, fraught with corruption and susceptible to selfish voters - it is the biggest drain on any country's resources. My contribution would be to replace every federal and regional government on earth with an independent truly benevolent decision maker along with a simple set of guidelines that they must subject every decision to that would guarantee the freedoms of the people.
The only government would be on the local, municipal level.
Abolish the UN too - what a waste of money.

Limit Private passenger cars to 3 litres. Gas mileage instantly improves.....but performance drops. So sports car manufacturers focus on dropping weight drastically. That in turn  puts less stress on roads and fans find the lighter cars are much more fun to drive. In the meantime engines can  be tuned more aggressively, but still with less total pollution.
We save oil, a dwindling resource critical to our survival....reduce pollution....make driving more fun.....and reduce road maintenance costs.
There is a downside in the new tooling required, but accelerated tax write offs can help and the new investment spending acts as a short term stimulus.
It's a win, win, win , win scenario.

Agree on that one - these massive engines in the US are not necessary
Moz - why not stop production of all gasoline engines and make everything diesel? Not much these new diesels can't do and there would be an immediate increase in efficiency. The refineries could be built or modified. Drove a six speed diesel Mercedes van while on vacation in South Africa and was amazed at the power and comparative efficiency to my six cylinder 3 litre van here in the US. Conservatively 30% more efficient.

You're right Matey. We had the same experience in CT....hired a diesel that almost seemed like it used no fuel. The turbocharging transforms these engines.....they hardly have any noise or smell.
You can debate the details, but the principle is the same....select a more efficient engine regime and challenge the car makers to make up the lost ground.
The fact is, size breeds more size....for safety if  nothing else. Get sizes falling and it becomes a virtuous circle.

Idea: Encourage the extended family to be the norm again.
Having multiple generations in a house provides a lot of value to the family & society. Grandparents have great value economically & socially as they provide stability & child care. In most cases the housing is cheaper for all as the mortgage is paid off. Younger family members help  look after  the elder members as they get older. There is less strain on the society as the extended family is more self sufficient.
We have thrown this model out in many societies but in fact it has value. It is an idea in plain site.

Welsh GUARDS are at Hounslow barracks .Old school mine rollers [ probably could be lightened to deal with IEDs ] would work on swingarms either side of an ARV  or the like .From memory the "lily whites " and House hold Cavalry [ Blues ?" ] are the oldest .

IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). 3 ways to stop them
1. Prevent them from being laid
a) 24hr drones - probably cost less than one dead/injured soldier and emotional damage/pain to the family and friendsb) Have a pulse remote device that will detonate the IEDs that are in the process of being laid
2. Disarm those already laid by safer and safer methods
3. This is where you come in Mozart - Hover vehicles for the Military to complement choppers

I am keen for Mozie to develop that Hover Military vehicle of mine that could fly over mines without setting them off.

My second "brilliant idea": the dogs used to detect drugs, etc. at airports & other places should also be trained to detect postate cancer (they can smell cancer). With a quick sniff the dogs could indicate if the traveller is cancer free. Simple, easy, cost-effective method. Would ensure medical checkups, save lives, etc.

Brilliant?

Agreed Oimatey...a benevolent despot is the best way to go...democracy is a farce...a lot of parasites and looters wasting tax payers money...Voltaire was spot on..."it is better to be ruled by one lion than a hundred (or thousand) rats"

Agreed with Mozart too...smaller and more economical and less polutant transportation needed to survive...also with JW...family support and structures build happier and more stable societies...JW you will see it when you travel to Ufa, Bashkortostan state in Russia. I've travelled in Russia (my missus is from Moscow) and I've seen that the Russians can withstand the worst conditions because the family stands together (the women in particular are strong but feminine and beautiful).

Mozart mentioned the honesty of a cab driver in London...so rare today but it still exists amongst the old school...a section of society that is sadly dying. A society build on principles of honesty, truth and integrity. Honour and respect is worth far,far more than riches, pleasure, self indulgence and material goods and leads to fulfillment, contentment and inner happiness.

Generational housing is how many immigrants get a foothold and is one of the reasons for their success in their adopted countries ,many of us ,especialy Maoris have been bought up this way [ when I was young it was rare to see Maori in old folks homes same for Asians or Italians etc ] I remember my Grandmother was the center of our huge extended family but it doesnt happen as much now with the Kiwi diaspora ,my Nanna allways had family living with her from adults to wee little bubs ,my great grandmother allways had at least 2 grand moko living with her [ they used to rotate them out as she eschewed such things as hot water and the like as being soft and pampered hahaha!]Good idea JW are you creating your own ? Was just looking at a prime example of humanity and decency from WW2 ,a Luftwaffe ace Franz Stigler came across a badly damaged B17 USAAF bomber over Germany and decided " I could not shoot as it would be murder and the plane obviously had severely wounded men on board " so at great risk both from the bomber and his own people escorted it out of Germany til the bomber was safe .He met the B17 pilot Charlie Brown [ good grief !] in 1990 in a very emotional reunion !

Wardad, thanks bro for that story. Just curious - would Franz Stigler and Charlie Brown still be alive today? Alot of us are brought up in modified Generational Housing. Now with the pace of modern society, the elderly are being shuffled off to Nursing Homes and families (especially grandchildren) and people are losing alot of priceless knowledge and experience.
In summary so far
1. JW a) Generational Housing b) Prostate Cancer detecting dogs (by smell)2. Mozart - limit cars to 3litres3. Oitmatey a) have Municipal National Governments and one benovolent ruler b) ban gaseoline and promote Diesel fuel (to be done by benovolent ruler )4. Brycy - mine/bomb detecting/sniffing dogs5. Wardad - have war mongering politicians' children go to war from the front line.6. Hakwa - the hakwacraft (floats like a butterfly and stings like the bee)7.Sebestianchabal - one act of honesty and honour touches more lives in a positive manner than acts of dishonesty and dishonour. Are such acts generational and imprinted into the DNA of offsprings of both the giver and the reciever. Is the survival of the human race dependent on individual acts of honesty and honour?
Any more outrageous brilliant and original ideas hiding in plain sight?

Honesty and honour. How about behaving ethically and decently. Think of how this would affect the number of courts, prisons, policemen, security services and producs, size of army etc etc.Solve that and it would make a massive difference. R ighteousness exalteth a nation.

My idea on dogs detecting postate cancer was partly a joke. They can in fact detect cancer but what you would see is dogs running around sniffing men's butts, lol You would have a few shocked men , lol
