Our WC squad with 2 x 4
That is serious.
What the best is: trying to the utmost and failing or screwing up on purpose,( providing supporters with a deep culture of pretexts visible causes for failure) and failing the same.
SA rugby servants have it for long: SA rugby are light years behind.
If they try their best, it shows. If not, it is concealed.
And if a fluke happens, call to a genius move.
SA rugby set themselves up for failure as they do not trust their ability to succeed.
Tradhole is onto something alright...something stupid...and then some...
Rassie has done no worse than Meyer...and we were fine after him...after AC...
BTW, I think AC would have done much better if they didn't fire him when they did...his last match, we almost beat NZ at Newlands...
Erasmus has done far, far worse than Meyer. The idiocy I hear spoken about Meyer is so typical of u educated and unteachable South Africa. Meyer lost Du Preez, Fourie, Rossouw, Botha, Smit, Victor, Butch, Schalk (injury and near death), amongst others before he even penciled in his team. He started having to rebuild the entire pack. He unearthed lots of new players. His one and only failing was buckling to external pressure in selecting Lambie, Reinach, Goosen, Damian, Lood et al. That's where things got rocky. Meyer is emphatically superior to Erasmus, and left the team better off than when he started.
Erasmus did exactly what Snor did, in selecting the same core, failing to find good talent and running the team into the ground. The only difference is that at least Snor had a strong core. Erasmus built the team around fluff. The least physical Bok side I have ever seen. No intimidation or fear factor.
"Erasmus has done far, far worse than Meyer."..$NOT!!!
Rassie won the RWC, Meyer lost to Japan...ENDE!!!
then the Forceful Tranformation policies inside of SA Rugby….all things that are setting us up for Failure.
In this case, the forceful policies is one way to hide that an all white team would not win the WC.
Months ago, it was announced that SA rugby would be forced to try to go with quota players in the team.
The observation was basic: considered the age of the players involved, 2019 WC winners could make it to the 2023 edition.
Fielding a team that would differ from the 2019 version by fielding the same white players while quota players are substituted with white players means compulsory victory. It can not be otherwise.
The consequence of a loss would be: 2019 WC was won due to quota player contribution.
A risk that SA rugby did not want to take.
Erasmus won a WC in his second attempt, and only having played one good test, and losing to a weaker NZ side comprehensively. Meyer is emphatically superior to Erasmus, and that was the last time we had a good Bok side.
Agreed…Harrassmiss has completely bungled the post WC period without our best talent pool since 2004.
