At the behest of Erasmus, SA Rugby has scrapped its policy of overseas based players requiring 30 caps or more to be eligible for national selection. I think this is a good and necessary step in the right direction. I wonder who Rassie has his eyes on. Duhan?
I think one can easier eliminate names than one can find out who he has in mind. I would say that the following are being borne in mind:-
Van der Merwe. Reinach, Coetzee, Schoeman, Du Plessis, Kriel
The fat is that De Klerk is already in even though he had less than 30 games and the change was made even before the 2018 test series.
The player he would NOT consider is Louw since the norm is performance not fairy tales.
If he is willing to consider Britz, why not? Louw has been a significant contributor.
