One of the few success stories of the test for the Boks. He is a strong ball carrier and is active in the loose.

His contribution in the 1st half was good and he should have remained on the pitch for longer.
Perhaps substituting the whole front row at the same time is disruptive as the Bok pack dithered right away.

Once Lomp and Elstat entered the fray, the Boks seemed short of brain power.

Kitshoff was the invisible man on the field and Flab Malherbe was behind play after the 1st ruck.

Beast was a quota.

We all saw how Dreyer destroyed him a few years back.

Ox is a quality player Lood was hardly on the field and got gang tackled once. The real issue is with useless Mostert and Kwagga who were physical liabilities and on the park for most of the game Those two players cost us the physical edge We conceded the upper hand as soon as they were selected Hopefully Rassie moves on from these two pretenders this week

Too early to say...Beast is a legend, but some promising signs.

Ox could be another Beast. He is better outside the scum than beast and doesn't have heart murmurs etc. Looks to be a strong scrummager.

Early days but great test.

Yes cc Dreyer was world class a monster at scum time. Who will forget Dreyer a great sharks player - or was it the Golden Frot Lions

One has to humour wee cc.

A primary school prop would have out scrummed Dreyer.

It isn't going to be easy to better arguably the most consistent Bok of the past thirty years. Already the fickle fancy crowd are giving an unproven talent its coronation as best ever. Why do you do this to yourselves? Nche was good. Just good. There was nothing in his performance to suggest he will even be 60% of the player Beast was. Is he better than Kits? Kits playing well is better than Nche was on Saturday. We're talking about one big run and a couple of strong scrums. Sample size is minute.

Yes it’s classical….the Beast won the last Lions series destroying Phil Vickery ….and he won the WC reducing Old King Cole to a shambling mess. Trouble is fools like Dave wanted Kitshoff in his place at the WC.

Yes Watson at the time was a better openside than Schalk. Schalk was never a true openside He should have played 7 or 8 Schalk did a good job as a make shift openside but unfortunately sold himself short being predictable and always targeting traffic. That’s fine as a blindside but not 6. Our back row lacked balance but it worked to a certain extent. Schalk was another PSDT - physical, fearless and always putting the body on the line

Schalk outcompeted every fetcher on the deck until his neck injury….after that you are right he was a more natural 7. But that was Juan Smith’s role and Burger still added massive value. Without Vermeulen we are playing without a loosie fetcher and you seem happy with that, what’s the difference?

Schalk was a very dynamic player most of his career. From 2007 onwards. A true legend.
