Paddy Jackson was recently aquitted of rape.

However it appears as if his rugby career is now over, based on some lude texts that he sent.

The high-profile trial, which ran for nine weeks at Belfast Crown Court, brought to light a number of sexually explicit and offensive text exchanges that sparked a wave of protest on social media and on the streets.

Before the trial Jackson had been the stand-in for Irish number one flyhalf Johnny Sexton, but Ulster chief executive Shane Logan said he did not believe Jackson would add to the 25 caps he had won. Olding has four caps.

Whilst I do not condone violence against women, he has been aquitted.

My feeling is that if he has been aquitted, he should continue with his career where he left it before the trial.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

Forget the player. Its more the circumstances that bother me.

Nope, you don't have it wrong Cloudy. You've got it spot on. Not guilty of rape or any other crime, but guilty as hell of being a complete arsehole and embarrassing his club.
