What is essenti;l here is to show where Goosen wa sinjured by reid and treated. It is NOT in the clip Mozart provided - so he is inventing things again.

Ok well, first we can see in the background (while Taute's less than impressive kick is gaining distance) Goosen on the deck with a medic running out to him, on the intersection of the 5m and 15m lines.
And then of course we can see the medic still in that spot collecting his/her goodies while Goosen hobbles off to try to make the tackle.
So the logical conclusion would be that from the moment Taute kicks, which is where the footage starts , through the subsequent All Black attack that led to Whitelock's try, Goosen was planted on the intersection of the 5m and 15m lines.

Looks like he's hobbling quite a bit, doubt any back could stop a 115kg lock running at you full speed with a badly injured leg.

The only problem with that is he stayed on for 9 minutes after the try.
31 Oct 2014, 21:51#12
Go to 3:55 and pause it straight away, you can see both players in the frame and where they were.
Whitelock was just outside the 22 when Goosen got up and hobbled over to try and tackle.
That just points out that Meyer made a mistake in keeping him on when he should have been taken off. But no player is going to want to go off whilst playing for their country.

Goosen hobbles and should have left the field after that try, or even before it.
He did not play the follow up week, and it could have been another spell out of the game

Geez ho w stupid are you Coward. Goosen got injured in the Oz game the week before go watch the test as proof of the injury sustained.
He should never have played against NZ but given his great performance against Oz I guess Meyer was desperate to have him play against NZ.
It was evident early on in the NZ game that Goosen was crocked. Imagine being stupid enough and pathetic enough to expect an injured player to effect a try saving tackle. It defies belief and sums Moffie up as a rugby man in total and Pakie for that matter.

Kinda like Percy Montgomery in the RWC final, playing the whole second half with a destroyed knee? As I recall that act of bravery didn't ring your bell. This is the usual rubbish Goosen got there in plenty of time and then draped himself around Whitelock's waist. If he went in at the knees with his shoulder it would have been no issue. He allowed Nonu to make additional metres a few minutes later. Knee or no knee Goosen is a weak tackler.
01 Nov 2014, 02:19#18
You really think a player could go low whilst hobbling over to the opposition when they've just injured their leg?

The fact that this fools thinks an injured player could get there and effect the tackle speaks volumes for his grasp of the game.
No wonder he sees positives in the likes of Adi, Cilliers and Morne
It all makes sense now

I see no anatomical reason why not, in fact not having to stand up the runner , as in a high tackle, has to be easier. What would be harder would be to drive into the tackle I suppose. But Whitlock was 6 metres out, no crash was required.
Guys do amazing things when they are hurt, Percy is a good example. Jannie Engelbrecht won a CC final with a broken collar bone and his arm in a sling, running in two tries. Hell a Tiny US gymnast finished her vault routine sticking the landing despite torn ligaments. We don't see much of it these days with the substitute rule, but in the old days players soldiered on with all sorts of injuries

And of course Dave, you calling players and indeed coaches (all people who have achieved more in the game than you ever have or ever will) "useless" and "clueless" left and right with not an ounce of respect makes you a great "rugby man". It's the "Saffa way", right? What a clown. Get your head out of your ass.

Pakistan what part of Morne and Adi being useless players do you not grasp.
If coaching was a career choice of mine I know for a fact I would do a better job than Meyer for the simple reason that he can't get the basics right. He does not know how to select a side/squad
He is useless

OK i was wrong wwhere Goosen was treated for the injury and I apologize for my mistake. However, you were worse - you first of all said that the injury was a myth and did not have an impact on the tackle on Whitelock and you accused Goosen of being poor defensively.
Then you find out about the injury issue and still persist with you allegations of poor tackling. So get real and admit you were abusive towards the player and did not give him any credit for trying to prevent the try - despite the injury to his knee.
Most players with the nature of the injury sustained by Goosen. would not even try and prevent that try He may even have worsened the knee problem by doing what he did in this case. A really brave effort - but your prejudice will not permit you to a gree with the latter statement. .

Piss off Moffie - you are talking crap. You made out as if the injury was of no consequnce in the tackle. Any sane person without predjudice would agree that it would have an impact - but you do not accept it. What a fool we have here.
Your prejudice are getting the better of you. When Morne in two major tests over the last year missed 11 of the 26 tackle attempts he was involved in - from which three tries were scored - there was nothing wrong in his defense - but an injured Goosen was blamed for a "weak" tackle. Piss off again - you twisted prejudiced idiot.

A typical Oupa interaction....you make a mistake....you deny it....then you call the other person a liar....you are forced to admit you are wrong....you try to divert attention by attacking the person you called a liar ....when that doesnt work you attack Morne , Victor, Alberts, Frans or de Jongh. Transparent as glass.

May be tranparent - I admit when I make a mistake - butI am not an idiot in rugby terms that would deny that a serious injurywould not impacton a tackle. And w en I do crticize players I give full reasons for the criticism - unlike youwhoentirely base your criticism on prejudice against certain players. Transparentas glass you are - a fool that never apologizes for making amistakeand come up with idiocy about player performances all the time.
Even though they buggered up badly often enough - I have never once seen any criticism of yours for bugger-ups by Morne, Victor, Alberts, Frans or De Jongh - only weak attempts to justify their bugger-ups. What a prejudiced junk writer we have here. Tranparent as glass.

You couldn't help but admit it, when it was laid bare. You did your best to deny it before that.
But point me to one mistake of fact I've made and not acknowledged. Not something thats just a matter of opinion. I'm talking about a factual error like Goosens position or Victor supposedly pushing behind the tighthead. You talk as if those unacknowledged mistakes exist. Find one or cork it Oupa.

What factual error did G oosen made - bar getting a serious injury and t hen according to you make a weak tackle.
I criticized Matfield for showing no grit and he does not support scrumming - with his position going into scrums and his bent back - he does not provide grunt in scrumming - whether you like itor not.
OK - I will find a mistak in each of the players you mentioned:-
* Morne Steyn - after doing it repeatedly in tests over the last year -he cocked up by missing a penalty line kick. For you it was inexplicable. Leave out his ightmare defensive stats - that just adds to it.
* Victor Matfield - showing no grunt and buiggered up two line outs at crucial stages in two RC tests.
* Willem Alberts - foeitog, his missed tackle on Read int eh Ellis Park test last year was never mentioend and then their was the Treeby incident where he landed on his backside trying to tackle abackline player. Still waiting to find one case of ball protection and recovery by this supposed loosie.
* Fransie - aimless kicking reuslting in multi turnovers of possession in games - 23 in total in Super 25 this year - passing games where h used skip passes to eliminate overlaps and a missed tackle ratiothat was worse than any other flyhalf in Super 15 and only beaten by De Jongh when playing at center.
* De Jongh went AWOL in the 2012 tests and tried the same again on Saturday. His tackle stats is the thing most opposing teams dream to have him in the team. Sorry according to you he missed so many tackles ecuse he is such a strong tackler - joke of the decade I am afraid.

Not one of those things, even if true, is a factual error. They are opinion, or in several cases the lack of a comment. Try again and find a factual error I have not fessed up to....the floor is yours.

They are opinion confirmed by stats and by factual occurnces on the ield of play. Try agaim. Have a look at the tackle of Fat Alberts on Read and his attempted tackle of Tr eeby and say they are not facts.
Go ito the stats of Fransie and De Jongh and you will find confirmation. Watch the games Morne Steyn played in and the stats will confirm what I wrote.
And tell me the gruntless Matield showed grunt in Tight 5 play - he never did in the past and never does now. A 106kg lock in the present rugby environment is a joke in any event. The Bigger and stronger players just pushed him aside and he pops out of mauls like a rag doll.
So factual errors by the players mentioned aplenty - but since these players are your favourites, the factual errors are ignoed and excuses aplenty found for them. What a farce to read your comments on players - Jannie is a "national treasure" - what a joke. The others make bugger-ups aplenty - no comment - but one mistake by a player you do not like and books are wriitten about them.
No wonder Plumtree said Fat Farnsie is not a center - he definitely is not a flyhalf either.

You gave a roraing report on Bpotha in the Scottish test and what was the case in fact?
You never ever wanted to disucss Fransies' performances an stats - because his stats was so poor.
You gave De Jongh credit for fragging JJ five meters every time he tackled him - when it did not happen. You gave incorrect descriptions of what happened onthefieldof play to exconerate Morne Steyn every time he made a mistake in the tests he played in - going so far as to say he won the one test for the Springboks without any proof to support your theoriy - because he kicked some conversions - notwithstanding the fact that he made serious errors that could have cost them the tsts.
You said the Lambie penalty in the Ellis Park test was not a pressure kick.
Lets face facts - all the bugger-ups I referred to did happen and not only once - but a number of times - yet you never mentioned anything negative iro of the culprits. That is the point here. Fact is - if anyone wants to get a completely warped idea about what happens during tests it is vey easy - just read Mozart's descriptions of what happene.
Tou lied repeatedly by referring to one missed tackle by saying "missed tackles" and one penalty awarded invivlong a certain player as "penalties". Although you were factually wrong you never admitted as much.
What is worse - you have stated that Alberts missed that tackle on Read - but tied to cover it up by excuses. The same happened in the case of bugger-ups by all your favourite players. Mozart - the Prejudiced always are faithful to his Tales to be Disbelieved.
