thoughts on the Bok attack and on Manie?

You were severely critical of both.

Well they were rubbish last week and neither here nor there against the All Blacks Denny, hence the criticism.

Obviously things went much better over the weekend. Manie was good. He looked suspect defensively again, missing two tackles in a row at one point. Like many weaknesses this will be glossed over in a runaway win because hey 48-7 who cares, but in tight games it can cause problems. His distribution was very good, some beautiful delayed passes etc. Overall our whole backline was good and they actually looked coached and cohesive, unlike last week when everyone just shoveled the ball on to the next guy while drifting towards the touchline.

Exactly what I knew would happen, we crushed an unfocused Bargie team and the noobs are declaring victory. Manie was relieved of his big weakness, goal kicking..and his tissue defense is ignored. So now suddenly he is back in favor.

Now why the fuck would the Argies be unfocused when they had a chance to win the RC for the first time What a load of utter horse shit as per usual Libbok’s defence was fine and his general play was excellent. He is a valuable member of the squad

Manie made a couple of good passes and had a good game. But him not kicking, is not the answer. Didn’t work that well with Jaden kicking. Threw away some valuable points. So it’s a mission when you pick him as he can’t accomplish all his tasks as a Flyhalf. For a change invest in Jordan Hendrikse.

I guess for the same reason they were unfocused in the second AB test. And his defense was not fine. Only a total moron could call Libbok’s defense fine and Mostert’s defense a liability

I never said powder puffs defence was a liability now did I? Stop lying Libbok’s defence in that test was fine and that’s a fact If you can’t work out the difference between the AB and the Bok test and what was at stake then best you wear that moron tag Unfocused my arse It’s funny how any great victory by the Boks is reduced to the opposition being weak or unfocused - the joke is on you

So Dave tell us, what would the Bargies have had to do to win the RC on Saturday

Score 3 more tries than the Boks and beat them by more than 7

A very tall order. But maybe  they believed they had a shot, that surely disappeared after the Boks first try at minute 8 of the game. After which they were going through the motions. The half time talk seemed to have some effect ……and the Boks never registered a point for 28minutes….then the Bargies were down to 13 and the floodgates opened.

Yeah Moz but the point is they would certainly have gone into that game focused and given their attacking style, 3 tries is hardly a tall order But on the day the Boks were hungry and when they are in that mood there is no stopping them

I'm sure Argentina were laser focused when the All Blacks smacked them 44-6 in the WC semi too. As I mentioned at the end of the live chat, it's hard to get an idea of just how good they actually are because you never see quite the same team in action two weeks in a row - and I don't mean in terms of who plays, but in terms of how they play. It's almost like they can't rise to meet an expectation. When there are no stakes they can pull a big old rabbit out of the hat and beat anyone once. Then the next week when the whole world is watching and saying "now go do it again" they fumble and fold.

Dave the last time we lost by more than 3 tries and 7 points is probably  our 2017 loss to NZ. The last time we lost by 3 tries and 7 points at home….perhaps in the last century. They knew the only hope was a Bok red card and even then, unlikely.

Yes but the Argies went into that game knowing that they had a chance to win the RC for the first time What they needed to do to achieve that was hardly impossible or a tall ask You said they were unfocused - I’m say bullshit they would have been very focused on trying to win the RC
