Is Alex Mckinnon doing the right thing by suing both the NRL and the player who tackled him?

 That's an interesting question Denny. There are circumstances where suing the tackler is completely justified...sometimes it's just a fair contest where one player gets the worst of it. But what of suing the Rugby Association? Paralysis is a risk in rugby from a number of sources....collapsed scrums, getting hammered while fetching, lineouts and fielding the high ball. Eliminate all of those elements and there is no game. So what can be done? Well nothing that's a guarantee, but to me week in week out we see a player coming down dangerously under the high ball. This is the one area the traditions of the game might have to make way in the interest of safety.

 I'm with the paralysed player in this instance, if you saw the tackle which was sickening I'm saying it was deliberate. Rugby league is a thug sport and unlike Union the purpose of the tackle is to hurt....to injure.

I'm keeping it simple, the team in gold buried the team in black. In fact dominated wouldn't be too strong a term.

Kiwis don't have a professional rugby league competition of their own, they're supported by the Ozzies by playing in the Australian NRL. Their league team the Warriors doubles up as the national team. So, the fact is that the Ozzies are holding them up, just don't expect an admission or appreciation. I can't remember the last time they beat the Ozzies, must be awhile as I haven't heard any loudmouth Kiwi bragging in yonks.

 This is a very difficult question.  What will the consequences be?  Are we going to milk a sport for the injuries that are in any event quite apparent?  Is it not a contact sport with the possibility of dire consequences?
What if every injured player start to sue left right and centre? 
I think the Petro Jackson / Chris Burger fund should be a project where every player is forced to "donate" on a monthly bases for as long as he is a salaried employee of any professional game.
Every country should have a similar fund which has decent guidelines, rules and criterion and who will ensure that an injured player is well looked after.
This legal battle route is sure to hurt the sport and its sponsors in the long run.  Rules will (and already have) be changed to make the sport "safer" - players will be too scared to engage for fear of a legal repercussion.
But those bloodthirsty freaking lawyers will be smiling, o-yes, they will be licking their dried and cracked gluttonous devious lips...
