pretty filthy with lambie at the moment and his last minute sickness, he could have at least sent me a txt or something,
bad news for ol jordaan, he has been making positive progress in 2014, and not the big meh he has for the last two seasons.
have been thinking lately that jordaan and also spies should be playing in the 7s team at least until rio.
both have attributes which could give the blitzboks the edge over the NZ 7s team who IMO are still the clear No1 7s team.

Sas, the Blitzbokke did not actually struggled that much agaiinst NZ in the last couple of seasons. We tend to botch our chances before we play you lot, but point taken. Spies will be out a bit longer though.

@dbdraad,

yup, i agree, the bliztboks dont really struggle against NZ, they have a better head to head the last few years.
but i wouldnt say the blitzboks botch their chances before u play us, blitzboks just havent been able to consistently preform throughout the entire series.
in the 2012/2013 world series the hong kong leg, Blitsboks finished a shocking and embarrassing 16th.
in the gold coast 7s, blitzboks finished 4th which while a million times better then their last hong kong showing, are all things which could count against them in the end.
meanwhile the NZ 7s team has finished in the top 3 since the 3rd of dec 2011, this level of consistency is why NZ 7s are the current world series and RWC champions, also why NZ have won 11 from 14 while blitzboks have only won 1 from 14 and 0 7s RWC.
"Spies will be out a bit longer though."
yeah its a pity about spies, from both an injury and career point of view.
IMO with rugby warrior vermeulen in the equation, theres no way spies will get the Boks No8 jersey on merit.
but his physical attributes make him perfect for the world of 7s. his speed and power would make him a better version of the dj forbes and frankie horn model.
i dont think spies is interested in anything but the Springboks though, and thats a bit of a bummer.
