Perspective on Springboks match and what needs to improve.

 I agree on Jannie,and Beast.Jannie needs to be dropped to go and rest in the CC.Bimarck...he needs a slap or two to pull himself together.That would be in the form of being dropped till the end of year tours.Bring in a younger hooker,maybe Kyle Cooper from the Sharks...or Brits.On halfback,we need to select a new front runner.Is it going to be Hougaard or Reinach.Why is Reinach selected but hasn't played yet.Then there is also Kockett that can kick as well.France is lining him up,Meyer needs to act quickly.But that the aimless kicking was evident today is a fact.I would like to see Serfontein and Mvovo play center together.But untill JdV is done we wont see a new center take field till after 2015.Amd yeah,when we enter a 22 we need to go away with three or seven.The best teams do that well.

Its unfortunate that Jean De Villiers intention is to play in RWC 15 and Meyer is backing him to do so. You're right about not seeing a new centre till after
2015.

 This is going to hold the Springboks back during the course of 2015. Clearly the backline is not going to operate as well when there are two crash ball centres, theres not much creativity between the two of De Villiers and Serfontein. De Villiers could improve in the next matches but he needs to stop crash balling and pass more when there is space. Like I've mentioned before De Allende has been overlooked too quickly, he needs more game time to prove himself.

 Are you crazy you want to drop our best player in Willie - NEVER. Even when he is having an off day he is one of our best players and always a threat.
Agreed on Pienaar, Jean,  Matfield and Jannie. ...They are done and must go if we want to win the next two.
Agreed Serfontein at 12 with de Allende at 13. Hougaard at 9, Lood or Willemse ahead of Matfield and Marcel v/d Merwe at 3.
I'd also select Jacques du Plessis ahead of Louw and move Coetzee to 6

 What does J Duplessis do that W Whitely isn't doing?Just asking because what I saw from Whitely was impressive.

I did not post Willie Le Roux needs to be dropped, I merely stated he has been out of form and there needs to be a change. He had a off day two weeks in a row, a change would benefit the team whether its during the match or in the starting team. No one ever seems to notice Willie Le Roux is at his complete best when he is at wing not fullback, last year he played wing and had sensational performances against the ABs and AUS, compared to this week it was nothing close to that. 

 The first player that comes to mind if Wille Le Roux gets injured or is way out of form is Cheslin Kolbe not Lambie. Crazy Meyer. 

 There re to my mind some changes necessary - and inthe main those cicle around Jannoie and Matfield up front and Louw was very flat on Saturday.   Les look at the situation objectively:-
*   Jannoie du Plessis is vry effectve for he first two or three scrums and then goes flat and subseuqnt scrums shows him in retreat.    I doubbt very much whether he has the necessary level of fitnsss to compete anymore.   Jannie will be 32 years of age in November and he is past it.   I think the future tightheads will be Malherbe, Van der Merwe and Rdelinghuis. 
*   The second problem is Matfield.   He took huis line-outs - which most half-decent locks will take in any event.   He makes enough tackles  but the quiality of those are sub-standard - while his misses are high.   Insofar as Tight   5 oplay is concrned - his contribution is sub-standard and not at all acceptable.   Also a case where performances subsides the longr he stays on the field of play.   Part of the reason why our scrums struggle with Beast is the lack of scrumming support he provides.   I do think there are more negatives than posiives in hiscontribution and there is no ways we willevr have a Tight 5 - whikle he plays.   A 106 kgs lock - not a chance of success.
*   A lot has been wrtten aboutLouw recently.   He was injured fairly early on Saturday, but he stayed on the field until halftime.   Whether the injury played a role in this case - is not clear.  However - Louw normaklly is a hard grinder and his performance on Saturday was not on the level of previous test performances.    If he needs replaceement - we have more than enough adequate loosies to chose from.   What ghorrifies me is the Mayer may decide to use the way below par Alberts in future.   The latter is a low work rate slow player whose impacts on games is extremelly limited and in fact detract from team erformances.
*    The problemis we need a set of new scrummies.   Boh the "geriatrics" (Du Preez and Pienaar) are going down and not improving in performances.   Bot h are not up to the standard they were in 2011 and earlier - and not enough has been doe to alternative options.   Hpougaard on Saturday was disappointing.   e is a poor decision maker and his kicking game was mindless and ineffective.   He brought nothing else to the game - no real attacking flare and questionable defense.   I would seriously look at Reinach and Groom as alternatives.
*    Last year De Villiers was verygood at 12 - this year there is one big zero in performances - both in defense and attack.   At 33 years of age - iitseems as ifthe zip hs gone out of his game - he produces very little in attacking play and hisdefense is substandard.   That also  means our center combination is not working.   I would say that De Villier will npot make the grade in future and they  need to look at alernatives.   Despite all the moans and groans - De Allende showed some attacking abilities and I would support a center combination of Serfontein and De Allende as the way to go in 2015.
Whereasthere is no way in the world we can still win the RC - I think that meyer shpuld make the above hchanges - especially with a view to the future and essnetially also the  WC.    We have very little stime for experimentation left and the answer is to take action now to get the right combinations in place.
