With standards I encompass things like accountability and respect. You come into a forum of rugby lovers and incessantly preach the death of the game. What are you trying to do? What do you hope to achieve? As you said yourself, he is a troll. He is free to be one, but he also has to accept that there are consequences to that. Just like there will be consequences if you spend your time at your place of work badmouthing your company.
Trolling is good for a laugh. Bait a few people, catch them, we have a laugh, we move on.
If that is all you have in your arsenal though, the same joke, the same line, the same tired rhetoric over and over again, then get yourself gone. I'm not of the school that tolerate fools, unfortunately, nor would I expect the courtesy if I make myself guilty of the same.
BTW, I think that IF censorship or moderation is applied, it should be by site admin, evenhanded and faceless.
Agree on that. I think posters are allowed to express their displeasure though, but Admin has the final word and we abide by that.
