My 38 would be:

Fullbacks: Hogg /Mike Brown

Wings: North/ Watson / Yarde / Zebo

Centres: Joseph / Henshaw / Davies / Williams / Tuilagi

Flyhalves: Farrell / Sexton / Biggar

Scrumhalves: Youngs / Murray / Rhys Webb

Looseheads: McGrath / Marler / Vinipola

Hookers: Best / Owens / Hartley

Tightheads: Cole / Furlong / Brooks

Locks: Lawes / Launchbury / Richie Gray / Henderson / Kruis

Loosies: CJ Stander / O’Brien / Billy / Warburton / Toje / Tipuric / Heaslip

My bolters are Tuilagi at centre who has not played much and is injury prone, plus Kieran Brooks at tighthead, who was in the England side last year got injured and has been leapfrogged this year by young Sinclair in the England squad, who for the record is good.

Difficult to leave the following out: Faletau, O’Mahony, Wood, Haskell, Jonny Gray, Care, Laidlaw, Ringrose, Daly, Liam Williams, May and Nowell

How many players do they have in a Lions squad?   I think 36 - but may be wrong.

Good team...I would take Faletau instead of Heaslip, can't comment on Brooks....captain?

Strong Lions squad u have selected Dave.
The only exception I have is Brown at fullback. He has a very aggressive and reactive nature and perhaps not suited to take on the All Blacks with his attitude.
He will be singled out by the All Blacks and I think will end up with the short straw.
Also, who would u select as captain?
My choice would be Warburton if he is fit to make the trip.

I like Brown, always looks to counter and always seems to beat the first defender or find space.

Hogg will start at 15, so Brown would make my midweek side

As for captain, that is so hard as he has to be a certain starter

For me there are only two certain starters - Hogg at 15, Murray at 9

Is Warburton the best openside? He might be, but O'Brien and Tupuric are pretty good

I might just go for Best, who has captained a recent victory over the AB's, but is he the best hooker? But then none of the hookers are that great

Cannot fault Saffex's choice...he is definitely on the button.

Dave, the most conspicuous omission in your squad is Alun-Wyn Jones who will almost certainly be one of the starting locks and might even get the nod for captaincy.
Manu Tuilagi is out for the season with yet another injury so forget about him.
Liam Williams is far more deserving of a place in the squad than Mike Brown.
Faletau before Heaslip.
Peter O'Mahoney may well be preferred to Sean O'Brien who hasn't shown his best form for some time now.
I think Jamie George has edged ahead of the yellow-card liabilty and thug that is Dylan Hartley.
Sorry, a rather crap squad.

I thought Alun-Wyn was under an injury cloud.  Agree on O'Mahoney and Liam Williams, I would also include Christian Wade for the midweek games. Small or not, 12 tries in 12 matches is too good to sit out.

Also Warburton is/was also under injury cloud, knee I think.

AWJ should be fine for the Lions tour according to this article (published March 22)

Plenty of time to gel. He should be able to pick real talent in almost every position.....a much stronger team than we faced in 2009.

I might be tempted to drop North for Tommy Seymour who with Hogg looked good for Six Nations and Glasgow.
I'd also swap Youngs out for Dan Robson. Youngs and Murray are so alike.

Seymour and Daley are similar types...very clever players. North looked good against Ireland though.

North looked good for Saints this weekend as well but I'd be worried about how much you can get out if him on tour. Seems to get knocked out rather easily these days.
