I am a Bulls man through and through, but when I can't think of a reason for Spies to be in the team, then the question has to be asked. I used to be a fan, more recently I was on the fence, but now I just don't get it. He takes a couple of line-out throws every game and that is it. Compared with the other loose forwards he is just a passenger. There is probably an argument to be made for his leadership abilities, but there are enough leaders in the team, De Villiers, Strauss, BIzmark, Habana etc, so his leadership won't be missed.
Long story short, he needs to be dropped and I'd be surprised if there is even one poster here, Bull or otherwise, who can give reasons to the contrary.

Spies shouldn't have been selected for the Bok's Squad last year either, zero performance. His inclusion into the Squad makes us a laughable by the likes of ABs and OZs.
He probably doesn't deserve a first place in the Bulls, let alone the captaincy.

Spies is an enigma - he has all the physical attribute to be a top loosie. Yet he under-performs continuously and I agree with the comments as indicated above

C'mon guys, Spies a "winger", The speed he has is definitely not for a winger, he's fast for a loosie, but not for a winger. Lets put it in plain language, "the guys has lost the plot". Maybe he should change his career to professional Modelling, there is no physical contact as such in that business.

Spot on DanDan this guy's Amenhotep tackling style.....with two arms thrust out horizontally, would have been a disaster in the backline. Sometimes he bumps into somebody in open field....he doesn't tackle them.

There is no magic bullet for Spies. He has been a waste of time since RWC07.
