Not appreciated by some, the guy in my man of the match: Take a look at this:

The Boks were relentless in defence – consider the fact that the All Blacks had 75% possession in the end and 79% territory in the game. And they couldn’t win. The All Blacks have demolished teams with half that possession in the past.

The Springboks made a massive 226 tackles in the game as opposed to a paltry 46 by the All Blacks. Pieter-Steph du Toit made 28 on his own, Franco Mostert 23. The props – Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe - made 12 tackles each.

Handre Pollard and Jesse Kriel made 10

Warren Whiteley was everywhere with 17 and Siya Kolisi with 15.

An incredible effort.

Good effort. Who was the real MOM?

Du Toit made 28 tackles in the match.   I have never seen that type of record ever before in rugby - be it on test or lower levels.

In the studio comments after the match I think that issue was the only one mentioned by Kempson.    I do not know who the MOM actually was - but will be really surprised if it was not Du Toit.

Du Toit had an immense game today. Good to see how much it meant at the end there.

Mike 28 tackles might be the record for test matches (I'm  not sure and haven't  bothered checking)but there have been a few guys to make over thirty at lowere levels. Jono Ross made 31 last Sunday.

Anyway, always nice to start the day with a win.

Du Toit plays a great game as a tight loosie. Very physical and never lets up. Good pace around the park.

Mostert 24 tackles, 2 missed tackles.....vs Stephanie 24 tackles, 5 missed tackles. Lots of graft but Whiteley gets my vote for defensive player of the game....20 tackles, 1 missed tackle. And those 20 include some vital open field tackles including his brilliant back tackle on Perenara saving a try if not the game.

He was bamboozled quite a few times in the first half. I guarantee you that not all of those tackles listed as successful were effective defence. However he did improve significantly in the second half. Whiteley was immense.

Another load of BS from the prejudiced world experts on site,  Mozart and OA - expected as much.  What about the swan n eck lie BSter no 1?   One can expect all kinds of lies from those two.

Are you now telling me that Steph didn't fail to make a tackle outright, being completely beaten and/or left flatfooted in the first half?

A very Thierry Dusautoir like performance, not quite but only a few shades off, Thierry was more balanced.

Careful about your postings - Mozart has already shitted himself and there is always a chance of  a seizure.  You must know that he hates Du Toit and would post his normal lies about performance on site.   .
