Willie ....a mixed bag including a poor kick directly into touch. But took the last try well 6
Combrink....horrible mistake leading to a try, direct penalty into touch  3
Venter....bamboozled for the Mays try, stripped of the ball, nothing inside runs. Actually botched the Goosen try with a forward pass, inexplicably forgiven by the ref 3
Allende....a few decent runs, but a bad penalty, poor kicks and lazy defense 4

JP....contested for the high ball, but unsuccessfully 4
Lambie....no direction or leadership, poor tactical kicking 4
Paige...nothing outstanding but he showed some pace chasing Mays, no glaring errors  5
Koch....active but clumsy general play....slipped bind cost us 3 points  4
Strauss .... a man out of his depth as captain and frustrated, but some fine lineout throws 5
Beast....had King Cole on the ropes, one fine bust  7
Etzebeth ....a quiet outing before going down in the head butt from  Vunipola 4
Lood....Mr Anonymous 2
Alberts....chosen by the British press as our best, good tackling and a few bruising runs....Daily will remember the Bone Crusher  7
Stephanie....a nightmare, missed kickoffs and the donor of two tries, bounced around by the big English bruisers 2
Whiteley....a passenger in the tough stuff, a few nice touches in the open 3
Kitshoff....not as good as the Beast at scrum time, gave away a try scoring chance 3
Mostert ....the Invisible Man's twin....not a test lock 2
Goosen ....some good things, injected some pace, but a few wayward passes and handling errors 5
Faf....a quiet game, missed a few tackles, but his service was crisp 4

Sure Mozart that is your evaluation - but as per normal scoring of tries are not really  considered by you.    That counts for nothing in your book.
So lets get real for a change and stop your drivel in its tracks:-
Le Roux - showed some spark in the backline = food under high balls  -   7
Combrinck - made a mistake in defense by not falling on the ball and trying to pick it up.  For the rest solid   =   4
Venter  - Made some good ball carries (7 carries making 34 meters) and missed none of his tackles - he made 7 = 5
De Allende - Strong ball carries (8 carries making 35 meters) - made 5 of his seven tackle attempts - not a convincing performance  = 4
Pietersen - barely visible and when he was he was poor - high ball miss led to a try for the English  =  2
Lambie - stood to deep in the pocket thus neutralizing the backline - too many aimless kicks =   3
Paige - poor service and got caught in possession a couple of times = 2
Whiteley  -   solid game both in attack and defense =   6
Du Toit - clearly not a loosie and made a mess of defense in some cases =  3
Alberts - slow and poor in ball  carries - good tackle count - poor at breakdowns = 4
De Jager - solid in defense and ball carries                      =   5
Etzebeth - very quiet and poor in ball carries and defense =  3
Koch    -  solid in scrumming                                           =  5
Strauss  -  poor performance on average                         =   4
Mtawarira  -  solid in scrumming                                      =   5
Goosen  -  scored a good try - and when came on made a serious turnaround in backline play.  Also had a try-assist in the case of Le Roux's try      =    7
In making the above assessments I also took note of the ESPN stats supporting my own impression of performance during the game.
