Ex Supersport

The Toyota Cheetahs have lost their second player with the news that fullback Hennie Daniller will move to Italian club Zebre at the end of the current Vodacom Super Rugby season.

Daniller, who has just turned 30, has been released early by the Cheetahs to make the move, and the news comes a few days after French club Oyonnax confirmed they had signed utility back Riaan "True Blue" Smit.

Johan Goosen is also said to be very close to a move to Racing Metro in France and will be a massive loss for the Cheetahs if he does go, while Trevor Nyakane has been linked in a move to the Bulls.

Daniller will join teammate, lock Andries Ferreira in the move.

At the club, the duo will be alongside another former Free Stater in Andries van Schalkwyk as well as South African born, Italian international lock Quintin Geldenhuys

Of course when you live in cuckoo land like ou windpomp all thsi means zip. Bwahhahahahaha

But ou windpomp aside what can be done about it. We are being pillaged by Europe OZ and Japan. One wonders if NZ will try and get some decent forw ards from us?

likem i said, come the 2019 RCW, all the Bok incumbents will be playing their trade overseas.

if SARU wants to help rugby in SA grow stronger as a whole, then they need to select SA based players only.
knowing u can play for the Boks and make the big bucks overseas gives zero incentive to keep playing in SA and helping the local rugby grow and remain a force.

despite an awesome rnd 14 from the SA clubs, the SA conference is easily the weakest conference in the competition, and this current rend will never change with this exodus.

would like to think that the big wigs realise this, but SARU admins have shown a great deal of incompetence since forever.

Saffex, rather a nasty comment to make on a player who not only served his rugby union faithfully all these years but always gave it his best.
Sorry it did not meet your standard of a average player.
But then again having played Currie Cup/S15 and international rugby as you must have  I can understand your high standards required for an player to classified as great.
Have a nice day!

Daniller is a very solid fullback Drotske attributes the Cheethas improved defence as due also to having him back at 15.
Good Super 15 player.
saSUE ask yourself if the nz dollar was say R17.50 to the pound how many more players would you lose. In Raand terms the amounts earned overseas are huge and even Bok contract cant compete. Not picking overseas based palyers wont help. The amount of players lost to our Super 15 sides is alarming and now the clowns want another Super 15 side purely for racial reasons or thats what they claim.

".................nz dollar was say R17.50 to the pound................."

Huhh? "What if the NZ$ was R17.50 to the £?", asks our friend Beeno the Chartered Accountant. Hahahahaha.  What if a kilogram of cheese weighed 15 litres?

Danillier is a useful player but not set the world alight. I would agree the Cheetas defence has improved, but I think this is due to numerous factors.
Willie Leroux roams around so much that he is often not even in the fullback position to defend, and for this reason I believe he should remain on the wing.
Having Brussouw at the breakdown has also helped the defence

 Saffex.....shame on you.
I like many on this site have become accustomed to your Eastern Province temper and foul outbursts taking over common decency.
Get some meds to help you control your temper.
Oh and by the way a real average player is your family member that you punt consistently namely....SILKY HANDS "EARL JANTJIES".
Remember if the single dose of meds does not help....DOUBLE UP.
Hope this helps you.
