Taking Rugby 365 ratings, Aus averaged 6.2....the Boks averaged 6.1. Which in an odd way is logical and makes one feel better about the consistency of these ratings.

Drill down a bit further and we find the Bok pack averaged 6.5 to Oz's 5.7.

The Bok Backs averaged only 5.6 to Oz's 6.7, making the Bok backline the lowest rated unit on the park.

So it's logical to ask whether any changes at all should be made to the pack....and whether the backs need to be revamped.

Starting with the pack I would say only hooker is in question, even though the Beast had a truly forgettable outing. Should we start with Bismarck? Based on that late steal one would say yes, except for one thing. Strauss was brought back in large part to improve scrumming and he did. We had our best scrums with Strauss on the park. So I would be tempted to stay the with the formula....Strauss to start and Bismarck to come on after 50 minutes. Leave the rest alone.

In the backs Step showed the same tentativeness in bringing up the line, but he made his tackles. It's a horribly weak choice for 13, but we have none better on tour. The wings, Willie and Jean pick themselves. So it all comes down to the half backs.

Morne lost the test yesterday, just as much as he won the test in Salta. But it was a huge mistake. The kind of mistake that leaves an odd feeling of injustice if it is just papered over. So I would be bold here ( I agree with my mate Pakie) and bring back Pollard. This is a low probabality win, but the low probablity gets enhanced a bit with more running clout.

Oddly I think Morne's mistake will help Pollard feel more like the man if chosen....before it seemed like he was being given a chance against weaker opponents.  And that will also help his cause.

Then if you are choosing Pollard, why not put in his Bools mate Hougaard and double down on a more aggressive approach. Pienaar is a safe pair of hands, but against the ABs we need some edge. So I would do Pollard and Hougaard and nothing more.

i reckon pollard is greener then the Bok jersey, prob still a better option then morne though, but thats debatable.
if u select morne, u know what iur going to get, a top of the range sniper goal kicking boot.

it means the same ol bafana bafnana like tactics from the Boksuckers, and while i and most other saffas are desperate to see that change, its never going to happen with meyer at the helm.

if lambie is fit, hes my go to flyhalf with hougaard at halfback.

my Boksucker backline would be,,,
9 f hougaard, 10 p lambies
12 j serfontein, 13 d de allende
11 b habana, 15 w le roux, 14 c hendricks
21 c reinach, 22 m steyn, 23 JDV

but it dosent really matter, even the most ardent Bok supporter shouldnt be expecting a win this weekend, which for the record would be the Boks 4th ever win against the All Blacks in NZ in the professional era, lolz

GO THE MIGHTY MIGHTY ALL BLACKS!!!

Also give Reinach 20 minutes at the end to attack.

He missed the whole story about Matfield totally.   Everyone in the Tight 5 suffers because we are fielding 4 Tight  players and a sideshow.   Matfield brings zzero to the tight  5 - zero to driving mauls, zero to scrumming and his tackles are weak wheneh managed not to miss them like yesterday and his ball carries non-existent.   He took five line out balls in total and did not compete when the Aussies threw in the abll.
What dooes he bring to the team to make him so essential?   Is he not the reason Beast had problems in scrumming?  That remains the million dollar question.  So what is going to happen against the AB's if Matfield remains in the team - irrespective if Beast is replaced or not .  Same story only worse.
The asnwer is simple - replace Matfield and 70% of the problems up front will be solved.
Your writing about Morne ois a joke - the man has a hsitory of missing to find touch with penalty kicks - and I liited them previously.   It is not the first time he fouled up in that respect.  The other question Iwant to ask you - is what about that kick on Saturday at minute 13-14?   Was that a classic Morne bugger-up or not?   Not the first time it happens either.
Morne eneds to leave for Stade Francais soonest and so should Pienaar be off to Ireland.
I do not think Jean and Serfontein are the centers we should have - both played the same game and that makes it impossible to have an attacking backline.   The choice of Jean and De Allende in the backline is a given.   To have only two defendiing centers - with zero attacking clout is a no-no.   The Aussies showed us exactly what happend yesterday - ultimately the backline defense breaks down and tries are scored.
So the changes to be made are Matfield amongst the forwards to restore some creditablitly to our Tight 5.   In the backline - Morne, and Pienaar needs to go and I would put Serfontein on the bench - he definitely is not a 13.

Sure Voetsek, it has to be if you are Dave Stoopid. By the way did you spot Lomp running to join the ruck just as the ball was coming out for the last Aussie try...no brains.

Nice team although I would keep Jean at center.
I suspect meyer will not change anything apart from Bissie perhaps?
