Goosen 3....turned over regularly. Jambo....2 made a few routine tackles Venter 3...a step inside and die with the ball Janse.....2 totally invisible. Combrink 1.....mistake after mistake Jantjies minus 2....he was playing for the opponents. Faf 2....one pulls for him, but so many mistakes Adriaanse 5....pretty decent scrumming Strauss 4....some decent work at breakdown Beast 5 ....solid game Lomp 2....error laden, nothing positive Stephanie 5....his first decent test on tour. Carr 3....no test player Cassiem 7....a full hearted effort. Whiteley 1....a complete non entity Kitshoff 4....effective once Samson was brought on. Marx 2....another sequence of woeful lineout throws. Mostert 3...active if not effective. Lambie 1....misses touch and throws 2 horrible passes. And finally Naas says we have to be honest we dont have world class players....somebody dares to tell the truth.

 Hahahahahahahahahaha suddenly we have no talent. The talent has been decimated by absurd selections and a total lack of understanding of what is required.Itsa team all at sea.Lourens  is not test standard. Carr is a joke. Whitely and Carr leave the Loose trio lacking in grunt. Poor combination. 
Our two best fly halves are Pollard and Robert Du Preez.Willie is our best 15
There is next to no creativity. Our maul near the line was one move that had some deception.
What you are looking at is mindless chaos. 
Anybody think we don't have the talent to beat even Italy has no clue about talent.
Its like having Hussein Obummer stuffing up the USA and then saying the USA is useless. Oaks just watch Trum*p do it for the USA. 

 Relax HasBeen, it happens.....we simply dont have the players. Not one of our backs would have been chosen ahead of their Welsh counterparts......not AB counterparts, Welsh counterparts. The Lions thing was a huge head fake, getting us confused all season. The Welsh kicked often and effectively. They kicked 25 times to our 17 times....and still gained many more metres 273 vs 211. The truth is HM was right not picking these Lions Boks or Leins as I call them, because they are our own Leicester City.

The coach who selected that team is clueless and the fact of the matter is that he obviously provide no real coaching - just a lot of talk.
I made my own assessment of the players and am not like  you multiplying mistakes.   At least I am objective - and do not spout the Sh!t you always come up with.
       

No the team was very well received....finally a real test of the Flavour of the Day players. They flopped.....you wanted all of the experience to go, enjoy what you asled for. No experience, no overseas players except for the weed Goosen, 100% proof flavour of the day players ......100% pathetic.

 I agree the best players are playing overseas.
Time to boycott games..... me thinks!

What price Frans Steyn at 10 instead of the random walk that is Jantjies or the studious incompetence that is Lambie.

Houwig's ratings pretty much the same as mine, if a point or so more generous: Cape Town - At least it is all over. As it happened: Wales v Springboks Perhaps the most wretched Springbok calendar year of the post-1991 era ended with an almost inevitable whimper on Saturday as they succumbed by a clear-cut 27-13 even to relatively humdrum Wales in Cardiff. Coach Allister Coetzee finished 2016 with a four from 12 Test record, the kind of statistic many earlier Bok generations would brand dismally unforgivable, although at the time of writing he had seemed just about defiant enough in his desire to stay put into next year - like it or not. His charges showed patches of improved general pace and intensity in this match … but only patches. In between, some of the mistakes, wrong options or instances of rank indecision were contagious, and utterly deflating to already gatvol supporters. Again, too, collective body language turned obviously fragile as it became apparent there was no real clue among the troops, from their leader down, about how to claw back a significant deficit of 20-6 early in the second half. “These were nervous players, insecure about themselves, and the game-plan,” lamented Nick Mallett in what became simply another examination of a corpse in the SuperSport studio afterwards. There were certain, very isolated examples of individual redemption, as evidenced below. Here’s how I rated the Boks out of 10 in Cardiff: Johan Goosen: 3 Only made the dropping of Willie le Roux after Florence look that much more insane. So clearly a fish out of water at No 15, and easily dispossessed or driven back a couple of times through poor technique with ball in hand or predictable run angles. One or two good right-footed relieving kicks under pressure. Ruan Combrinck: 3 Unfortunate early fumble seemed to only set tone for others to follow suit … and there were other spillages and wider gremlins from him. Has lost mojo considerably in late season. Francois Venter: 4 As with Combrinck, hands looked fallible at times, though he did produce moments of purpose and directness on attack, and at least kept going … Rohan Janse van Rensburg: 4.5 Very early on, offered some welcome go-forward with his bustling strength. But he was also inexplicably skipped too many times in passing moves, negating his value. And even this powerhouse once had the ball wrestled from his clutches. Jamba Ulengo: 4 You can’t be too harsh when so little opportunity is provided for his lanky legs to get into full stride in an attacking sense. Yet general callowness also apparent at left wing. Jury stays out. Elton Jantjies: 3.5 Will have to make up much ground in a Lions jersey next year to prove he actually has what it takes at the superior level after numerous chances. Game management almost non-existent. Had a chip charged down, nearly causing problems at other end of the park, and other fancy dinks also bore little fruit. Some brave tackles. Faf de Klerk: 3.5 Always a big heart … but is that enough in the unforgiving world of Test rugby? Just seems too frantic, gets bounced around like a rag doll at close quarters, and made some awful, ball-frittering kicks. Did gutsily field a high bomb or two, even if that’s hardly meant to be a core area for him. Expensive yellow-card for cynical knock-down. Warren Whiteley: 4.5 Really forgettable first half, but did stir more significantly after break when his industry improved markedly. Some alert defending, but unusually for him lost a lineout ball on Bok throw-in. Uzair Cassiem: 6.5 Let’s not get too carried away … this was no genuinely “dream” debut. But considering the mass under-performance going on around him, the blindside flank’s first Test start was commendable. He grafted honestly in unglamorous areas, tackled and carried willingly, and was fitting scorer of the lone, industrial Bok try. Nizaam Carr: 3.5 Nope, it’s just not working for him on the open-side flank. Remains more of an impact-type No 8 off the “splinters”, perhaps. Lood de Jager: 3.5 Looked listless, damagingly error-prone and sometimes tetchy, which set bad example to colleagues. Have said this before, but not a patch on the constantly energetic, bruising RWC 2015 figure. Pieter-Steph du Toit: 5.5 Sometimes gets into defensive difficulty out of position … but maybe that’s only because he’s at least willing to leave his comfort zone to aid the cause out wide when they’re in perilous positions? Grafted spiritedly, won a maul turnover and was game’s top tackler, according to stats, in first period. Lourens Adriaanse: 5.5 There have been Bok tightheads with greater mongrel outside the set-piece, I’m sure, but at least his core right-shoulder trade was performed with some aplomb. Adriaan Strauss: 4 On his swansong, both as Bok player and captain, you might have wished for a barn-stormer. It didn’t come. Efficient enough at staple duties, but couldn’t inspire his troops in any animated way. Tendai Mtawarira: 6 Extremely secure at scrum-time, and put himself about the park. Turned over once on drive, however. Standout substitutes: Steven Kitshoff and Piet van Zyl: 5.5 Kitshoff continued to ensure Boks earned scrum ascendancy when he appeared in 59th minute, whilst the 15 minutes at scrumhalf for Van Zyl did seem to engineer better thrust from there.

And when Houwig says Rohan offered some welcome go-forward, he gained 13 metres in 5 carries. He beat no tackles and made no breaks. I'm always amazed by our writers' tendency to see the conventional wisdom. I was looking forward to Janse's debut, but in truth he was easily neutralized.

 Rugby 365  Player Ratings are pretty bad also, I agree that Cassiem looked pretty good when most players around him looked pretty bad.

OPINION: A DISMAL AND DISAPPOINTING SEASON-ENDING GAME SAW SOUTH AFRICA LOSE 13-27 TO WALES IN CARDIFF ON SATURDAY.

The Springboks ended winless after their four-match, three-Test year-end.

It means that Allister Coetzee's men have lost eight Tests in a calendar year for the first time - another unwanted record!

15 Johan Goosen
He absorbed the pressure from the high ball on a few occasions, but the full-back's decision making on attack allowed the home side to settle on defence. Goosen ran 51 metres in the first half, that's the most by any player on either side but none of these metres paid off any points for the Boks.

Playing with much more confidence than his previous appearances, the Lions utility back's massive boot came in handy on a few occasions.

13 Francois Venter
The midfielder's handling skills was questionable, apart from the odd occasion that the ball dipped in mid-air, his hands were leaking.

12 Rohan Janse van Rensburg
His first Test debut and it seemed that the pressure got to the Lions midfielder. Janse van Rensburg made a few runs, but it was his inability to stop the home side's backs that stood out.

11 Jamba Ulengo
His name was mentioned only a handful of times, not getting ball from his centres shouldn't be an excuse. The speedster should have learnt a thing or two from the legendary Habana and get involved in the match.

10 Elton Jantjies
His vision was good, but the execution thereof leaves one wondering what warranted his selection in the run-on side. Form off the tee helped him save face.

9 Francois de Klerk
The nippy nine didn't do much to redeem himself following last week's dismal performance. De Klerk was not only slow off the base, but his decision making abilities put the Boks on the backfoot on a few occasions.

8 Warren Whiteley
Not much to be said, as in his previous outings, the Lions skipper failed to make any considerable impact at the breakdown, but it is in broken play, where he is known to carve through defensive lines, that he let his side down.

7 Uzair Cassiem
The debutant made some crucial tackles, stopping the threatening Wales backs from gaining momentum. Cassiem was thrown in at the deep end and the back rower didn't disappoint, he even got over for his first Test try.

The back row forward made some solid hits and got busy at the breakdown, effecting a turnover that could have resulted in Wales crossing for a certain first-half try, but Carr tends to go quiet as the game matures and this was the case once again.

5 Lodewyk de Jager
Carried the ball very well, made good use of his strength to suck in more than one defender at a time. Solid at the line-out, supported well his fellow second rower.

4 Pieter-Steph du Toit
An improved performance from the second rower, du Toit ensured the Boks' defensive efforts were strong. He got his basics right, but a lot more was expected from the versatile forward.

3 Lourens Adriaanse
Going up against one of the game's toughest competitors, Gethin Jenkins, the Bok prop had a tough day at the office. Him collapsing at every second scrum, didn't help his cause either.

2 Adriaan Strauss (captain)
Playing in his last game for the Boks, the captain had a much better game. His ability to keep calm under pressure allowed the forwards to play with a lot more confidence in the set pieces.

The Beast stood firm in the scrums, his strength and experience helped the Boks to stop Wales from quality ball at crucial times.

Kitshoff came on and immediately he got busy at the coalface. He made his presence felt for a short passage of play, but that was as good as it got for him.

The Bulls scrum-half cleared much quicker than de Klerk, but it his lack of composure at crucial times clouded his decision making ability.

The more experienced playmaker made a solid impact, his vision and decision making skills came in handy. But with the lack of quality ball in fact the lack of ball didn't make it any easier for the flyhalf.

Goosen 3...A poor mans Willie Leroux at 15. He needs to be at 10.

Jambo....2  .. What a horrible test to make a debut. Needs to get proper chances.

Venter 1...a one trick pony that crash balls. His dummy runs fool no one except for himself

Janse.....4.5  Some decent ball carries. On one side calamity Jantjies, on the other a dummy runner that runs away from supporting lines.

Combrink 1.... Questions about his ability to turn around like Jonu Lomu, except he is not fast or big.

Jantjies  1....    Hopeless- things improved when he left. What a relief for his team mates to see his departure. The bookies offered better rates

Faf 2....one pulls for him, but so many mistakes

Adriaanse 5....surpising that he was not totally useless. He actually got involved.

Strauss 2....Expert at ball carrying from a stationary position.  Has he ever thought about running on to the ball- by standing a little deeper.

Beast 5 ....solid game

Lomp 1... Appears to make being clumsy contagious. Never looks where he is going. 

Terrible for team confidence. 

Stephanie 5....our player of the tournament. (even considering being a dummy twice)

Carr 1.5...A joke in bad taste. A small flank that can't fetch is like lost fart that lingers

Cassiem 7....a full hearted effort.

Whiteley 3....Would make a good linesman. Lots of running but no influence on the game.

Kitshoff 2. By the time he came on I was losing the will to live. - and started washing the dishes. i dont recall much of him.

Marx 2....as above

Mostert 3...useless.

Lambie 1....an improvement on captain calamity- but even that was just a bit better than useless.

 It was to be expected. 
The Goats were never going to win this match. How could they under this coach?
They were always going to have a shocker of a season with this clueless baboon and his misfits playing "coach, coach".
I see he's throwing up his hands ... claiming it's not his fault. What a snivelling coward. Can't even own up to his incompetence. Bastard!! Wish I could put the flat of my hand against the side of his head. 
These youngsters should have been fielded right from the start ... but instead we had the elderly taking up unmerited spots all season long. Doing nothing. Dragging everyone with them ... down the sewer. One of them being the useless and uninspiring capt Adriaan Strauss. 
We have the talent ... and then some. 
Guys like Janse van Rensburg, Venter, PSDT, Eben, Ulengo and Marx all had an awesome season this and are the right boys to take us forward. 
A skilled coach like Eddie Jones would have brought it all out. 
We've seen so many changes of personnel this year ... players selected out of position ... quotas ... the wrong players brought in ... the elderly ... overseas based players who have no drive, no interest in test match rugby other than the salary offered.
It's a mess ... and yet, the right decision could fix it in a season.  
Let us see what they do next. 
My money's on Coetzee being retained till further notice.

I think that most of the SA franchises are in serious financial situation and the solution seems to be to run to the private sector for financial assistance.   I think that the teams may be bought out - like the case is likely with the Stormers.   The private sec tor is hard task masters and will want their pound of flesh in return.  
That would stop the BS selection of players and coaching staff.  I think the sponsors and financial supporters  will insist that Coetzee be fired and that is likely to start a whole new approach and may bear fruit.

I will always have hope for the Bok. It breaks my heart to see what these racist fools have done to our pride and joy.  
We are at an all time low now. Dare I ask the question ... "can it get any worse than this"?
