Yeah, we played like trojans, but I felt we went to sleep midway in the second half.
Considering JDV usually gets around a 7, and JS did about as much as JDV usually does.... why does JS get a 9 all of a sudden?
15 Willie le Roux: lively from the start throwing himself around and creating options, solid under the high ball and in defense, the true X factor of the team setting up multiple tries. Is there anything he cant do?! 10/10 14 Cornal Hendricks: Worked well and supported the flair of Le Roux to get a try on debut. 7/10 13 JP Pietersen: Relatively quiet from the big centre in the first half, but got himself more involved as it went on linking well with the exciting outside backs. 7/10 12 Jan Serfontein: Direct, hard running straight at Biggar again and again. A fantastic try saving tackle on the Welsh flyhalf aswell and a run-on debut he can be proud of. 9/10 11 Bryan Habana: Very busy through out, rounded off two tries in great style and continued looking form work all game. 8/10 10 Morné Steyn: Vision throughout the game with his passing and tactical kicking. His place kicking was superb as usual, an impressive game from the stalwart 8/10 9 Fourie du Preez: Slick service and far more inventive from the little general, linked up well with Steyn and kept the Boks going for the full 80. 8/10 8 Duane Vermeulen: Him and Alberts demolished the Welsh forwards with their physicality, his general ball play was outstanding. 9/10 7 Willem Alberts: Put them on front foot again and again, when a tackle was needed he was on hand to collect a few bones. 8/10 6 Francois Louw: Gave a good balance to the loose trio, working towards the ball and securing rucks and stealing balls, a really hard worker. 9/10 5 Victor Matfield (captain): Made it impossible for the Welsh to even think about competing at the lineout and his touches in open play were sublime. 8/10 4 Bakkies Botha: Did a lot of the hard graft in line outs and tight phases before giving way for De Jager's debut at halftime. 7/10 3 Jannie du Plessis: Teamed up well with Steenkamp in the scrum and even beat two defenders! had a few good carries to boot. 8/10 2 Bismarck du Plessis: Powerful in everything he did and involved in everything but did make a few errors. 7/10 1 Gurthrö Steenkamp: Some fantastic scrummaging from the big man in his 50th cap. 7/10 Replacements: 16 Schalk Brits: (on for Du Plessis in the 70th minute) Looked for work but the ball just didnt seem to come for him. 6/10 17 Tendai Mtawarira: (on for Steenkamp in the 45 minute) Added a little more in open play than Steenkamp and scrummed just as well. 7/10 18 Coenie Oosthuizen: (on for J. Du Plessis in the 58th minute) In an open game he tried to get his hands on the ball whenever he could. 7/10 19 Lodewyk de Jager: (on for Botha in the 41st minute) Great start in international rugby, made his presence and size felt in the tackles, making 1 more than the next highest tackler (Louw). 9/10 20 Schalk Burger: (on for Alberts in the 58th minute) Slotted into the loose trio well, making tackles and carrying the ball when ever he could. 7/10 21 Ruan Pienaar: (on for Goosen in the 72nd minute) Did well to move the ball around from flyhalf in his limited time. 7/10 22 Johan Goosen: (on for Steyn in the 70th minute) Came on and was off in two minutes with a suspected shoulder injury. 0/10 23 Lwazi Mvovo: (on for Le Roux in the 70th minute) Looked full of energy in his 10 minutes. 7/10
