Madness that Ruben v Heerden, Ruan Vermaak, JD Schickerling, Jason Jenkins, Corne Rahl, Sadie, Hanro Jacobs, Frans Klopper, Tsituka brothers, Theunissen, Nohamba, Green, Tambwe, Zas and Gelant have not been included given the names of some that have

Again with Janse van Rensburg, Du Preez,s Twins, Jean Kleyn, Trevor the Dancing Bear, but they never play….Lomp is back wow…

But then you have exiting new locks but rather go with the old or the ones, as mentioned before that get selected, but NEVER play!

Erasmus is definitely stagnating progress with his player selections.

This Virtual Alignment Camp is nothing more than a glorified Zoom meeting.

"Erasmus is definitely stagnating progress with his player selections."

Such a strange thing to say! Just because you don't like his selections.

He's picked quite a few youngsters and uncapped players.

This alignment selection is mosntly based on overseas players.

He has done a good job of identifying players except for those names I mention in particular Ruben v Heerden, Ruan Vermaak and the Tsituka brothers

Good to see Lood back he was always going to be there - absolutely no point in the likes of Mostert, Kleyn, Janse v Rensburg, Nyakane, Koch, Aker vd Merwe, Reinach, Mapimpi and Willie

The natural order of getting more of the younger players in for the older or wasted selections on players that don’t even play??

The only strange thing is Erasmus making these odd and not well thought thru decisions.

Agreed Draad, Rassie is way ahead of the pack and easily the best coach the Boks have ever had and potentially the best coach the game has seen.

He gets 95% of his selections right but definitely has a blind spot when it comes to locks

His only good calls have been Eben, Lood and RG

Mostert, Orie, Janse v Rensburg, Kleyn, Moerat and Nortje have been poor calls when you consider the alternatives that are available and far better

Rassie is a phenomenal coach, but he is not perfect

But one really needs to ask how the fuck players that have had practically no game time at provincial level like Roche, Renzo du Plessis, Nico Steyn or Ethan Bester get the call ahead of consistently good performers like Ruben v Heerden, Ruan Vermaak, the Tsituka brothers and Nohamba

It makes zero sense

Aging players Who are increasingly injured. Plenty of forward talent but no new players who are incumbents. NZ away twice this year and France and Ireland up north. 2024 was the easiest schedule imaginable….2025 looks to be the hardest given the tournaments and tours we play.

Easiest schedule imaginable in 2024 playing NZ twice and Ireland twice - I don’t think so - try again

Those games were at home though. Playing the AB, Ireland and France at there home fortresses, is a much More daunting task.

It’s still a game of rugby against NZ and Ireland for fuck sake - one would swear the players change the way they play just because they have a stadium full of supporters shouting for them - give me a break

We split the home series with Ireland and as M points outplaying them away would be much tougher

The NZ series at home we barely won. NZ had the Ellis Park test won and then stupidly turned down an easy penalty.

What would you say if the genius loses twice to NZ away… and France and Ireland. Quite possible if Etzebeth and a few others aren’t fit

Oh boy Moz don’t give me the usual shit that sides could have won this that and the other - I can play that game to - we could have won the 2nd Irish test had v Staaden not coughed up possession

Given how much sides travel these days the home ground advantage shit counts for very little these days - let’s face it - it’s 80min on a field, what exactly are the home crowd actually able to do to determine the outcome of a game? Zero

Evidenced by us beating France at home in the WC, Ireland beating us and NZ away from home etc etc

We will beat NZ in NZ this year as we will beat Ireland and France - with or without Eben

If home ground advantage has disappeared how come the ABs haven’t been beaten at Eden Park in 31 years??

Just lucky I guess……

That changes this year

Moola explain how homeground gives you an advantage once the match commences

Does it make a professional player play better and does it make the opposition player play worse?
