It was great to see Goosen playing well. He is clearly building confidence after some extreme injuries.
He is hitting the line flat and taking on the opposition to vary his play like he did when he first hit the scene.
His distribution game is excellant and he has the speed of a wing, catching the Chiefs 12 from miles behind to stop a certain try
Watching him and Willie Leroux was mesmerising marshall the backline.
It was one of the best backline performances I have ever seen from a South African team.
If will be mouth watering to see this flyhalf and fullback combination for the boks, combined with the likes of Habana, Jean, JP.
It may be a good idea though to stick with Jaque Fourie to organise the defence, their is so much firepower in attack

Well it was Goosens best game since the Aussie test in 2012. He seems to have lost his apprehension about being hurt.....or perhaps that French feeler has motivated the lad. It's encouraging, but it's just one swallow.

Don't get too exited the same problems are still there. They were there throughout the 2012 season at all levels, they were there last year (whilst he was actually fit) and they are still there now. But I know the cries for a savior to a problem that doesn't exist will only increase now.

I was again most impressed by the Lions 7 Britz. Possibly the fastest loose forward in SA barring Deon. Has very good skills and plays for 80 minutes. At 108 kg he is reasonably size wise. De Klerk and Boschoff continue to impress and Watermeyer also showing promise.Allende too was impressive.
I think though that even ou snapster must realise Kolisi and Carr are not able to compete physically.Another wrong call be saffex! Agree with your comments Moz. De Jongh has a lot to prove though. What was amazing was he actually got a pass away.

Just trying to keep things real Sun. The issues Goosen faces are still there and de Jongh is probably not a long term answer at Bok 13. But yesterday Goosen was able to showcase his speed and huge boot. And De Jongh showed us how a real centre takes a gap. So much for the theory that there is no space for centres.

It depends also om the creation of space by the inside center and the passing that needs to be spot on to open up gaps for outside centers to run into. If that is not done then the outside center becomes ineffective.
We have only two inside centers in SA that can do that and they are De Villiers and De Allende. Steyn have never done it and the impression is that cannot do it - neither can Serfontein.

Mike you are really bias when it comes to De Allende and Malherbe (Who I see you featured on your Team of the Week). De Allende is the most selfish center in SA and Malherbe did nothing of note against the Waratahs.
Funny, in an interview last year JJ mentioned how easy it was partnering Serfontein as he created immense amount of space for him.

Oom I guarantee you de Jongh could play outside Serfontein and make breaks. The break he made which resulted in a try came from the line he ran. If a centre runs the right lines he makes the passer look good. De Allende is no great reader of defences.
