The man is too confused in his thinking to be reffing these big games.....definitely a penalty, George started by trying to catch the ball, and then dropped his hands.

No, he actually caught the ball and then dropped it on purpose. Penalty for sure. The fool made some other errors too.

One decision that goes against you doesn't suddenly correct the many that favoured you over the years. I never heard you complaning about those decisions.
It was all about the win. It didn't matter how you guys won the match. Just as long as you walked away the victors then all was good with the world.
Not this time.
Suck it up

Like when CC??
France 2007 vs Blind Barnes? while the Boks played all the Island Teams and England twice to win?
SA 1995 vs Suzie vs a very expensive gold watch to a bent ref?

I don't think I have ever liked a French Referee. They always seem to be angry and shouting at the players

The ref provided the best outcome to the series possible.
He took control of the game at a critical moment to favour the most appealing result.
It worked fully as customers were asking for more at the end of the game. Many would have liked extra time. Many blamed that a series might end on a draw. Customers wanted more. By sending both teams back to back, he provided a cliffhanger.
This ref is not confused one single second. He is clear minded and used to calculating. The easiest path would have been to follow the conselling from other refs (TMO) as it shifted the responsibility from his shoulders to other refs' shoulders. They were the ones deciding the outcome.
The opposite happened: as he was walking toward the players, probably helped by another ref, he managed to stretch the interpretation of the rugby laws to bring the most desired outcome to the series, one that get customers to beg for another round.
It is not great reffing though. It ticks the business shrewd mark, as it is common in rugby but it lacks the smoothness to make it appear other than a trick to artificially favour a desirable result.

No. SA is in all likelihood the most ref favoured rugby nation in rugby history.
Contrary to NZ, SA never developed a rugby that would allow SA to win against the general demand. NZ has enough quality to win despite a non favourable reffing, as once shown by this series. It takes NZ to play poorly to lose or draw.
SA is in another category. Without an appropriate reffing to support them, they go nowhere. They lack the required quality to win against the general demand.
The world of rugby is in such fear of losing SA as a commercial partner they buried a case of large scale bitings in order to avoid putting SA on the side again.
Right now, the world of rugby keeps providing SA with tailored reffing to help SA victories as much as possible.
NZ has favours from the world of rugby. They do not compare with the favours SA keep getting.

Yeah Trad.
We should stop wasting resources on educating Africans. We've been doing it for decades now but they still can't manage to build anything even closely resembling a stable economy.
Or maybe we should allow Africans to invent their own education system. You know, since its obviously unfair to educate African's via colonial methods. Oh wait...nothing has ever stopped any African from inventing his own educational system. They just never have. Now why do you think that is?

They probably had their own education system. Every group of human beings have had an education system. It's been the case for thousands years now.
The other points were already answered. Here is a repeat.
Allowing Africans to invent their own education system or anything related: it can not be allowed since it means diverted resource consumption. African resources are already allocated elsewhere.
Educating Africans: educating them in what? It is a finite world, you do not need more excellent men, you need less of them. Consumption for the sake of consumption is unsustainable in a finite world.
The thing is that there is no proposition of education in store. Excellent men has no education to provide Africans with.
Any attempt of education will fail because there is no education to provide.
It is similar to what is found in the criminal world.
A pimp can not educate the women he lives off in the way of living off. There is no universality in this kind of education.
Education as it is envisioned by excellent men only achieves one goal: destroying resources in a larger, bigger, faster way.
Africans, in order to display the benefits of the education, must destroy resources in the appropriate measure. Where are the resources going to come from?
A stable economy, as it is understood by excellent men require an exterior to provide larger and larger inputs.
Where are the resources going to come from?
Excellent men must stop claiming to be able of doing what they can not do.
One is educating 7 billion people in behaving as excellent men. Pimps cant turn prostitutes into pimps. It means the termination of them as pimps.

@Traditionalist, you have this whole conspiracy worked out. I see we can no longer fool you.
You are a puppet to the excellent men. Get used to it. Stop complaining about it. The excellent men own the world, including you.
When are you going to start producing more so we/the excellent men can consume the profits? Your laziness can't be tolerated ongoing.
If there are winners, there have to be some losers. It is unfortunate, but that is life. We can't all be excellent men- because that would not be excellent in a relative sense.
You should be working at the bottom of the coal mine (Like those Chile miners) so that we/"the excellent men" can profit from this. You must produce, so we can consume more and more and be even more excellent.
Can you please get with the programme, and stop complaining?
Thanks in advance for any work that you have done, or may do, to allow the excellent men to consume more.
Yours Truly,An Excellent man. --------------------------------------------------

When are you going to start producing more so we/the excellent men can consume the profits? Your laziness can't be tolerated ongoing.
This is likely to never happen in SA.
Producing more means consuming more. There are no resources left to enable this in SA.
This has nothing to do with laziness.
We can't all be excellent men
That is the point. Hence no value in the education as delivered by excellent men. In SA, millions are pushed into a dead end, there are no resources available to sustain the process. Resources are already allocated.
because that would not be excellent in a relative sense.
No. Excellent men distinguish themselves by their relation to consumption. It has led them to seek excellence by destroying faster, larger, bigger. They excell in the activity not relatively to poorer achievers but because they actually destroy larger, faster and bigger. Removing all the other types of consumers will not change a thing to it.
You should be working at the bottom of the coal mine (Like those Chile
miners) so that we/"the excellent men" can profit from this.
Could have been worse like SA mines.
You must produce, so we can consume more and more and be even more excellent.
No. Production is limited by consumption. You can never produce more than you consume. The excellent men thing is a trend going downwards. As a matter of facts, excellent men will not only struggle to integrate new members as shown by SA but more importantly,
Excellent men are going to excell less and less.
Can you please get with the programme, and stop complaining?
There was no complaint.
Complaints are to be found elsewhere, in the writings of people complaining about the quota policy (when it is in fact a trick to postpone the termination of rugby in SA), complaining about a reffing biased against SA (when SA is the most ref favoured country in the world)
Same as for getting with the program
Thanks in advance for any work that you have done, or may do, to allow the excellent men to consume more.
Work does not allow that. Work is one kind of consumption and is capped as such.
What is going to happen is a change in the nature of work. Hard work is going to be a general notion (in opposition to soft work as encouraged by excellent men)
This is going to be clearer and clearer as SA is turned into a kolmanskop on a national scale.

There is not enough resources worldwide to support an excellent men educated population in SA.
This educational undertaking is doomed to fail.
After watching the series, though, it once again came to realization that lions non white players put out a decent display.
So, instead of pushing forward educational effort that can not succeed, when will SA train one single player (not two, one and one only) who could rival with those players, players who did not earn their shirt by being boosted to cover for the failures of the training system in SA?
Are non white people that scarce in SA?

Poite did his thing to Bismarck. Two yellows later and the home crowd roared with approval. It didn't matter to them that his hit on Carter was legitimate. They wanted his head and Poite was there to give it to them. It didn't matter how the match was won ... they would take it anyway they could.
Now he's the enemy.
Their team is a poor one. They were shown up as 2nd rate ... and it's the damn refs fault. Clearly he didn't understand his role in this series.
In the end it all boils down to who favours the All Blacks and who doesn't ... who gives them the win (like the 2011 WC trophy) ... and who won't alllow then to get away with murder.
Snivelling, cry babies ...
I love it
11 Jul 2017, 12:26#19
We roared with approval all right CC when the thug Bismarck got his marching orders.Didn't really make a whole lot of difference to the game though. 29-15, 4 tries to 1. Bit of a bath really. No need for the unjustified snivelling from you back in 2013 and obviously still gnawing away at you 4 years later mate! J ust suck it up, remember?...

I do remember that cc and how the AB supporters backed up the ref the next day exposing the gap in their knowledge of the rules of the game. Not sure we would have one the game but any game without 15v15 is just anirritation to watch. Much like the 15min lost time to the scrum.

Well it seems clear that the Lions were offside with a minute to play...affording the ABs a winning kick. There are only 2 counter arguments.
..
1 Read interfered with the kickoff catch and should have been penalized.
...
2 Barrett could have missed the kick.
..
Who knows what Barrett would have done, but it was a sitter. The more interesting question is whether Read interfered with Williams. Kaplan seems to think so....as does the whole British press. What does the Board think?
