I think this is a mistake but we'll see. Whatever else, Bongi becomes our most important player.

I would prefer to have Manie starting, but Pollard is also needed as a pole kicker.
Faff seems solid at goal-kicking, and he looked good at flyhalf today as well.

Maybe we will see Pollard are 12- which RassNaber suggested earlier in the season, but the Boks already have an incumbent and challenger for 12.

Getting Pollard there is sensible. He should always have been in the squad with the possible need to withdraw vs out of it with possibility of a call up. Not having a proper reserve hooker is one of those nutty things that characterize the Harrassmiss reign…,maybe it won’t hurt us and he will be called a genius. But why have Hendrikse there vs a proper second hooker. Infuriating!

The question is would you select Pollard over Libbok for the game against Ireland next week?
If the answer is "yes" then it's a sensible enough decision.
If the answer is "no" then it's a very stupid call.
Manie Libbok is not a world class goal-kicker but he adds a lot of flair to the backline and the Boks are looking good playing expansive running rugby.
If it was me I'd have called up Dweba to be my bench hooker and I'd have stuck with Manie, flaky goal-kicking or not.
I don't believe Pollard's goal-kicking is so much better than Manie's that it warrants us playing a lightweight non-specia list hooker for 30 minutes in each game from here on in.

Libboks cannot function against any kind of press. He is not a good attacker. He also cannot defend. It's Pollard or bust.

What are you blathering on about you dolt. You were put in the corner, and I suggest you stay there.

As per Libbok, revisit the Scotland test for his poor defending and deer in headlights approach to attacking.

Oh right, I'm the one in a corner.

LMAO!

I'm not the rugby noob who said that defenders need to create opportunities. That's something that only a complete fool would say.

By the way, didn' t you promise to back up any statement you made with frames? Huh chump? Well, we're still waiting.

I don’t know if this Guy, Supersport writer Gavin Rich has insider info or what, but according to him Pollard won’t play against IRE ….he will only be introduced later in the Tournament…??

I do not think Pollard would not just be walking  into the palying  team after his performance.  His long absence from Rugby may result a bench selection against the Irish and a starting selection against Tonga.

Pollards last few performances in the Springbok jersey was frankly not up to standard and the coaching set-up will want to see whether he can perform well enough to play in tests.

Moonrover

I do not think  not think that the present coaching staff will do what Meyer against Japan did in 2015,  Any responsible coach will bear in mind  that Pollard in his last few appearances for the Springboks were half-baked and to introduce him in to a crucial game would be fatal.   He may play as a starter for the Tonga match and may get one of t wo bench selections before being selected for the starting line-up.   .
