This is Cardinelli's likely team for Saturday. He is a pretty savvy guy and thinks Pollard will cover 10/12, leaving Allende and Lleyds to compete for 13/wing/15. The flexibility here is provided by Kriel who can move back to 15.
..
Apparently there is also some speculation that Stephanie could start ahead of Mostert....the dream lives on.

Good to see Pollard is back, let's hope he has fully recovered. If so he does increase their options and his kicking ball in hand skills will be useful.
He was looking so promising for a while so it's hard to believe he is the loser some have made him out to be in recent days.

Pollard made every kick in the WC semi .....that tells you all you need to know about his mental toughness. He missed a whole season with a medical interlude that rivalled Schalk Burger's, Those who thought he wouldn't have a long rebuild were naive. But he has the heart, head and body of a potentially great player.

If Pollard plays well off the bench at inside centre, I would keep him in the position. Playing outside of Jantjies would be a good opportunity to learn the current Bok running game plan.
Pollard offers more play making ability than Jan Simpleton.
If Jantjies got injured, we have no backup flyhalf that has played this game plan.

If Pollard is the guy we saw before his injury he could have a huge impact on the backline. Not only can he kick off the tee and ball in hand but he is solid mentally & this calmness should help Jantjies. Plus he's solid on defense and can play multiple positions.

I saw some article that he has bulked up to 107KG.
I am not sure if this is part of the Buls conditioning program. He was looking very slow, clumsy and bulky in his last games for the Bulls.
He was very good in his first games for the Boks, then overplayed in Japan, got injured and things went downhill for sometime.

Saw the same thing, I thought he was quite big enough before....I'm not sure this weight gain is a plus.

I hope this doesn't indicate they want to use him as a battering ram.
