I am currently in London with my better half. As luck would have it she left a small package with some rather expensive items in the back of a cab. Within 20 minutes the cab driver called the hotel to let us know he had the package and was going to deliver it.
The Christmas spirit is alive in well in London.

When I was in Europe for the WC in 2007 I went to visit my nephew in Essex the Sunday after the England - SA game and from there on the Monday to Aberdeen by plane - returning to London on the Tuesday.
The Tuesday was my nephew's birthday and whilst in SA I booked tickets for the show for my nephew, his wife and myself to see "We will Rock You". The booking also included dinner at a very refined restaurant. We had excellent seats at the performance and the dinner was very good - but so was the price. It cost me only 675 pounds for the three of us. Exchange rate cost about R10 000. Really top class though - both the performance and the dinner. That while after the tickets for three for the rugby game referred to sets me back R10 000 as well.
That was followed the next week by another expensive one. After the next game, I flew to Bratislava and took a boat trip on the Danube form there to Vienna. One tour locally organised was a visit to Schonbrunn Palace, dinner at the Palace and a performance of the Imperial Orchestra. Wonderful - dinner was excellent, had a seat at the centre of the front row at the performance and champagne was served to the people in the first two rows of seats. That set me back another R3 000 for the evening.
Lesson learnt - never use your credit card in SA for that kind of extravagance - the pain afterwards is terrible.
