Perhaps Harrassmus would prefer not to have his picture taken with this tour. He was intimately involved in the Bargie series, but apparently is going to let Nienaber fly solo against NZ. Bizarre move, after bizarre move by a man who is beginning to crack.
Look for his return at first light on the 5th day if Helms Deep is in trouble, and he has another opportunity to be the hero.
Read what Nienaber said about the issue:-
"Rassie has decided to remain in South Africa for now to allow the focus around the team to remain on the Rugby Championship and the team itself so that they can perform to the best of their ability on the field," said head coach Jacques Nienaber.
"He will continue to play an active role in our team and coaches meetings throughout the tour, and schedule permitting, he may join us later on."
The latter paragraph relates to the meeting of World Rugby on the issue involving him. There is really nothing WR can do about the issue. Erasmus is the Director of Rugby and WR can do nothing about that issue - so he is likely to join the team in Australia.
It is weird go deductions are made on this board and that applies to especially Mozart.

I’ll bet he was ordered to stay in SA for his trial, never mind “he decided to stay”.
The only thing we can be sure of is Harrassmus will do what’s best for Harrassmus.

Nothing about not being able to go because of the hearing. He apparently wants the team to focus on rugby….so what prevents that if he goes. The outcry surrounding the hearing ? What about the outcry surrounding the video, he seemed to welcome that.
