As of last year, the following countries have these population numbers.
France - 66.9 million
United Kingdom - 65.64 million
Italy - 60.6 million
South Africa - 55.91 million
Australia - 24.13 million
New Zealand - 4.693 million
Fiji - 898 760
What is it that makes the All Blacks so good.........
It cannot just be down to good coaching of the national team.... surely?
Is it how and when they introduce youngsters to the game through school?
It cannot just be the genetics of the people there..... naturally gifted, powerfully built?
These numbers are incredible, if you look at the small numbers they have to choose from, compared to the rest of the countries in the world that play rugby .
I assume the ratio of people playing rugby per country would also be vastly different, which would impact on the number of players you have at your disposal.
