So what you're saying, Draad is that we can expect a better performance against the Poms, right? ... or will it be case of "how much can anyone do in two weeks, traveling back from WDC" blah, blah, blah ... laid out as an excuse if we lose?
Why are we constantly looking for excuses? Either he's a good coach ... or he isn't. Either he's going to live up to Mike's hype ... or he isn't.
Usually a good coach will make good decisions right from the start.
So far we've seen him select a quota as his backline coach, who by the way was fired a year ago for incompetence. With his appointment came a whole lot of justifications in support. Things like "He's not a backline coach per se, but rather one who brings a different set of skills to the mix. Getting off the mark quicker etc". That's what he sold us. Did you see any of that on Saturday? I didn't.
We have also seen him select a host of undeserving players. Guys like Ralepelle, Bismarck, Beast, Nyakane, Oupa, Kolisi, Jantjies, De Allende, Kriel, Vermealen ... man alive ... does the list ever end? That doesn't fill me with confidence at all ... especially after what I saw on Saturday.
He also took an out of form blindside flank and gave him the captaincy. He's busy teaching him the trade of how to play on the openside now ... a crash course so to speak ... and has every intention of playing him there against the Poms.
Rassie said that the team he sent to face Wales was not a "B" side. They looked more like a "D" side to me ... played like one too ... and then after the dust settled ... they returned home with another Bok loss.
He's supposed to be our Messiah ... according to Mike anyway.
Nah ... let's accept the fact that what we have here is another Coetzee type ... all mouth.
