a world XV team can be very deadly for the Boks, its similar to a barbarians team where it dosnet have the pressures of tests to give players that extra edge and it also gives teams the Boks in this case a chance to field a B team of sorts.
all these were factors when the All Blacks lost to the barbarians in 2009 and when the Boks lost to the barbarians in 2010.
the world XVs biggest problem is the lack of synergy, untried combos etc playes not familiar with each others rugby intricacies.
they will be relying on the classy individual skills and a little luck in the cohesion department.
Boks are also playing their first game of the year, and IMO the cobwebs factor is always an issue.
weighing up all the factors, i reckon the Boks will take the win, home ground advantage for the Boks has always been the one ace up their sleeve they can count on against any team,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, except the All Blacks, but that goes without saying.

Yep, the World side is better than the Bok side so my money would be on the World side.

Mozart
There is sound reasons why the World team is a better selection than Meyer's geriatric concoction. It was punted as from January 2014 as a test - now suddenly it is not one.
And for every failed player without any performance record selected by Meyer an excuse has already been concocted.
So the excuse have already been designed. "This is not a test and my selection was based to determine the value of the geriatrics for the future. If they fail - no problem - they would have learnt from the loss - so I will just keep them."

Sure - we know something about rugby - and can identify bullshit in selecting players.

"easy call really"....yep, they are all easy calls when there are no consequences, when you can just shoot your mouth off from the sidelines.

It is like last year against Australia when the same "team selectors" that knew better than Meyer were predicting a loss for the Springboks, or perhaps even hoping for a loss just because the team was not made up of their selections.
This was a good Barbarians team that got whipped.

Moz I said the Boks would win but feared this would paper over the cracks. I see however many articles about the shortcomings of the Boks and the need to fix things. I can only hope the guys here living on cloud nine get their feet on the ground and look issues straight in the eye. Take a leaf out of Beeno's book oaks!
We must not be like the kbbs glossing over matters - they do have real problems of course.
The Boks were taken to the cleaners in the first half. The World 15 had two journeyman locks as well!!!!!!!!While they were interested they looked much the better side.In the second half two very average props were still ge tting the better of us. The lineout master wee victor could get no change out of the journeyman locks.
No only the most head in sand oak would think all is well in paradise. Pienaar and Morne offer no attacking threat at all. We need a complete package to beat the best.

Dont get too excited cc. I am expecting Meyer to solve most of his problems and cut the number of geriatrics in the squad down.I am however very worried that matfiled has hypnotised Meyer and has an unhealthy hold over him that will make Meyer continue to pick him. The show pony is talking about going to the WORLD CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Given his hold over Meyer that actually could happen. Very serious consequences for us should matfiled be one of our locks.
09 Jun 2014, 10:47#23
Meyer wanted Matfield right from the start ... as his captain.
Wouldn't surprise me if he takes over from Jean as Bok cpt ... permanently.
Watch this space!!

Oh sure Genecut....I was biting my finger nails before the game. Listen you incredibly stupid man, there was never the slightest chance the Boks would lose this game. Only a fool......you.....would have even considered that. Now put some more of OOm Kallie's magic elixir on your dome .

You sound a little bitter, Faggot!!
It's got nothing to do with my earlier comments about your next bowel movement being the best part of your day ... does it?? ... or how pointless you as an aged person really are ... hmmm?
I wasn't trying to be nasty, Poef!!
Honest injun!!
It's just that living in La La Land isn't good for you. I was merely trying to help you out. Bring you back to reality.
But alas ... it seems reality isn't where you want to be.
My sincere apologies, Faggot.
I realize now that I should have left you with the pleasant thoughts of your vast estates ... your extensive wine cellars and all those pricey sports cars ... there where your running through fields of wild flowers ... and not a turkey neck fold in sight ...
Any way ... hearty congrats to you and your aged team.
They're deserved winners.
I wish them well against Wales.
Long may your team stay the same.
Sadly I will be cheering for the Welsh.
I can't really wait to see your boys in the RC.
09 Jun 2014, 17:26#28
Oh gosh!!!!
Decisions, decisions ...
Must say Faggot, I can see why you find it so much more fun living in La La Land.
Tell me ... can you fly there too ... ??

Not any more Baldy, unless I fly British...I no longer have first call on three Challengers. But I do have more time to enjoy my toys...six of one, half a dozen of the other.
