Pote Human appointed as Bulls Coach

"Pote Human was confirmed as head coach of the Bulls' Super Rugby team at a press conference in Pretoria on Tuesday.

Human, who had taken charge of the Blue Bulls in this year's Currie Cup, will take over the vacancy left by New Zealander John Mitchell, who has joined England as their defence coach.

The Pretoria-franchise also confirmed the appointment of Alan Zondagh as their director of rugby.

Zondagh, who signed a three-year deal at the Bulls, coached Eastern Province and Western Province in the 1990s before leaving for England where he coached London Scottish. He was also the Director of Rugby at Saracens and later fulfilled the same role at Boland. In recent years, he has run the Rugby Performance Centre (RPC) in Riebeek West in the Western Cape.

It's no secret that the Bulls were eager to appoint former Springbok lock Victor Matfield as head coach, but an agreement could not be reached between the two parties.

Southern Kings coach Deon Davids was also in the running but was not the preferred candidate."

I think the fact is that the Remgrow Subsidiary - who has a 50% share in Bulls Rugby accepted Human as coach - but their insistence that Alan Zondagh serve as well was always a requirement.   Zondagh signed a three  year contract with the Bulls as their Director of Rugby.

Another interesting point is that Erasmus and Zondagh previously worked together t the Stormers and  ther is no doubt going to be a close association between the two.

It is surprising that Mozart and his confidence trickster associates did not jump onto Erasmus for stating that he accepted his appointment as SARU Director of Rugby and was not supposed to be both Director of Rugby and the Chief Coach of the Springboks at the same time.   The agreement with SARU apparently was that Erasmus will carry the Coach role until the WC next year - after which the two jobs will be separated and a new Chief Coach for the springboks will have to be appointed.

Originally Erasmus stated boldly that selecting a winning quota riddled side would be easy ... seems he's discovered otherwise ... and so another Bok coach runs for cover. This one wanted out half way through his first season.

Another chump bites the dust.

It's got to the stage now where we're replacing coaches every two years.  I wonder who'll be the next sap?

Or perhaps Matfield did not want to work under Zondagh - but we will never know.

Are you talking BS again?   Erasmus has a 6 year contact with SARU as  DIRECTOR of RUGBY lasting to 2023.   He clearly said nobody carry the double responsibility of DOR and Coach together - it is two entirely different jobs,   The coach organizationally is under the control of the DOR.   

He initially thought that SARU would retain Coetzee as coach - but that did not happen and when he was appointed it was agreed that he would handle both the jobs until the WC and SARU would then appoint a Chief Coach - who will report to Erasmus.

As per normal you showed how foolish you normally are when ignoring facts and going ballistic because of prejudice.

Erasmus was NEVER appointed as Chief Coach  by SARU - he was appointed as Director of Rugby on a six year contract lasting through to 2023.   It was agreed at the time that he would handle both the Director job and the Chief Coach job until the WC - after which SARU would appoint a new Chief Coach working under the supervision of Erasmus as Director of Rugby.

I cannot factually agree with you iro your comments.   Erasmus as director is even in a higher position than  he is as Chef Coach.

Wonder whether White would try his luck again and apply for the Chief Coach job when the post is advertised in 2019.    The two will never be able to work together since Erasmus regards rugby as a science  - which was never the forte of White bec ause of deficient knowledge of the 15 man game plan.

Human played 116 games for the Eastern Province and 84 for the Cheetahs in the 1980's and early 1990's.

SB   See the above - not a bad coach - he was the Bulls head coach when they won the SR series and the Blue Bulls and Tuks was the finalists in their  competitions when he was coaching them.

A hell of an improvement on Ludeke .  

Who won it in 2004?    

Both Meyer and Ludeke was hopeless coaches anyway. Does the formers performance at Stade Francais not tell you a story -hopeless bird brain?  

The Brumbies won in 2004 under Rod Macqueen. The Bulls finished 6th, with the Stormers being the only SA side in the playoffs, losing to the Saders in the semi. 

Both hopeless? That's a stretch. Meyer built the Bulls into a force. Ludeke had to remodel the Bulls and sustain them after the ELVs, twice. His 2010 side the most efficient attacking forces in Super rugby history. His 2009 side achieving a linebreak to try ratio of 2:1. Meyer kept the Boks #2 for the overwhelming majority of his tenure, achieving the position in his first year.

All this, but Lügnerin tells us otherwise. When we see what you praise, we see the true value of your appraisal of the game. It's been a terrible week for you. In fact, it's such a common thing, how can one determine where any definitive low point lies?

Agree with you 100% about the Bulls forwards.   They developed a technique by which the scrummie passed the ball back to the forwards and only two Liefling if he ha d to kick or make a dropped goal; attempt.   

Their backline was basically only there for defense,   

Meyer tried this stunt in the 2015 WC and it was one of the reasons for the Japan disaster - Burger knocked on ball after ball and Bismarck gave away penalty after penalty,

Is again on cloud 9 - fairy tales aplenty.   That famous most affective attacking side in Super Rugby ever is a joke in bad taste.   I was at the final - in Durban between the Sharks and the Bulls and I think it was Habana who scored the winning try.   How did he get the ball?   It was Fat Fransie who made a miserable relieving kick not finding touch - Habana got the ball and ran through the defense and scored the winning try.   

Just think about Morne at flyhalf - any tam with him at flyhalf could NEVER have been the most efficient attacking backline.   Morne - he as indeed a joke at flyhalf.  But Mozart and AD makes him out to be a brilliant attacking flyhalf.   Must have been going back in leaps an bounds  - after all Meyer dropped Morne from the Springbok team ONCE in 2012 and TWICE in 2014.

Sure - Meyer did built up the team by constantly running back to the has-beens and never-has-beens.   It caused havoc in 2015 - when the team he built up lost all matches in the Rugby Championship - the first time it happened to lose against Argentina  a home in the RC and the only time they manage a loss against Japan.  

Both Meyer and Ludeke had to go at the end of 2-15 - no SA team would touch them with a barge pole as coaches. 

Now - do you think that Meyer was any good at Stade Francais.   Earlier this year we had praise song after praise song from Mozart and you about how wonderful Stade was doing and how brilliant Morne was at flyhalf for them?   What happened?   No comment on that ?   SB is correct - with the recent record Meyer will not last long at Stade Francais.  He started off stupidly.   Morne was the traditional bench warmer for Stade and was passed on to Breve - but when Meyer got appointed at Stade he got the serial flop back and as expected the side started flopping badly.

No AO  your story about Meyer is seriously flawed - as far as I remember - the Springboks ws no 2 in 2013 - but never since.  2014 was a disaster year for Meyer and after the Japan debacle the team was temporarily at 6.   

Never enter your mind that he was a flop and that Ludeke left the Bulls in disgrace.   What a pair!!!!!!LMAO    .
