Diamond earlier this month exclusively told RugbyPass that he intended to build a large South African contingent at the club, with a current Springbok hooker, prop and lock on their shopping list after next year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan.

That puts hooker Malcolm Marx, props Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe and lock/flanker Pieter-Steph Du Toit on the Sale radar.

Diamond told RugyPass: “Faf’s looking to extend for three or four years and so is Jono Ross. There is no chance of Faf going anywhere else and my message to other clubs is simple “ go and find your own players!” The du Preez brothers are doing well having joined us and we will be looking to extend their stay.

“Our recruitment drive is in South Africaat the moment with some of Faf’s mates. We are in intense talks with a prop, hooker and lock to come after the World Cup, They are all current South Africa internationals and we are in a good place.”

Ackers already signed to Sale so Marx will probably end up at Gloucester with Ackerman.

Let b reasonable - Du Toit is in huge demand by at least four or five clubs in England and France an can make his pick based on offers made to him.   He is both a to class lock and blindside flank so he will be one of the highest paid SA player in Europe.    

Frans Malherbe is not keen to play overseas at present - his father is in poor health and it worries him - but I think he may end up leaving.  

I know Sale were looking at Kitschoff, but haven't heard anything further.

the English and French clubs are going to kill the sport of rugby,... and they'll begin with the SH rugby

there are now hundreds of SA, Kiwi and aussie players playing there,... but, at least till the moment, most of the best players could be retained,.... that's no more the case,.... and once the bests SH players were gone, Super Rugby will be dead and the SH rugby will follow,...

I can see one only way to confront this,... a competition governed by the world's Union s that can compete in TV rights with the Premiership and Top 14,.... that was, I think, the aim behind the recently unveiled World League,.... but they did so many things wrong

The NH cant play rugby themselves so they have to import. Lot like the Bools and the wee Sharkies. great importers of talent and of course are parasites hahahahahahahaha

Even more money to be thrown around in the premiership now that the CVC deal has gone through.

In SA, as you know, the government screws white players. 

As much as I agree with you about the potential ruin of SH Rugby, one has to sympathise with players that simply wanna compete on merit. 

SA might have a future, but it ain't looking like a bright one and only about twenty percent of people here give a shit about rugby. If there is a future for the game here, it's probably more similar to that of the West Indian cricket side than it is different. If it isnt already.

Do players stay here and be clowns in a failing circus or do they take their skills somewhere else and help to maintain or perhaps raise the standard there. Hard to say which is best for the game really.

NZ and Oz have a much better chance at survival than SA, fortunately...unfortunately  :/

Super rugby received a lethal injection in 2008. It was killed by fanciful ideals from the Aussies. 

As for staying in SA? There isn't one good reason. If I was a Bok, and had an opportunity to take my family to Japan and earn real money, I wouldn't hesitate. I think many resident South Africans still underestimate how bad the country is.

Most South Africans realize how really bad the situation is.   With 25,4 million people on the voters roll only 73% voted and of those 73% only 53.9% voted for the ANC.   Taking into account the ANC effectively only got  38% support in the SA.   That means a lot of people rrealize the country is going down the drain fast - but does not vote because they do not think they could make a difference,   

So that remark of yours is really not reflecting he real situation in SA.   Everything has deteriorated over the past two decades to a level that is way below what it should be,,

Be it as it may the younger generation should get out if hey can and I have no problem with the rugby players doing just that.  There is major discrimination against Whites, Indians and Coloureds also and constant racial hate campaigns against people from those population groups.  .      ,,
