For the first time this year there are SIX matches to be played and I predict the following outcomes:-

Blues vs Brumbies  - Unsure  - but on form the Brumbies by 7 points

Reds vs Waratahs   -  Reds by 12

Force vs Crusaders -  Crusaders by 20+

Stormers vs Rebels -  Stormers by 20+

Sharks vs Cheetahs -  Sharks by 12+

Bulls vs Lions          -   Bulls by 7+

My prediction on the log points is as follows

Brumbies                 4

Reds                        4

Crusaders               5

Stormers                 5

Sharks                     5

Bulls                        4

The above points are based on the overall performances of the teams this year - but taking into account the performances this past weekend - there is a possibility of upsets also.   The teams with the strongest performances were the Reds and the Sharks - especially the latter.    I think there is a possibility of three potential upsets that could affect the log points - those being the Brumbies (the Blues performances improved recently), the Reds (The Waratahs could surprise - derbies like that is often unpredictable) and the Bulls ( they played badly against the Sharks and there recent game against the hotchpotch Stormers team was unconvincing).     In the latter case what is in favour of the Bulls is the poor backline of the Lions  - startimng with Jantjies (the Bulls will really target him and run all over him) and outside of him the players are really slow-speed snails - hence my prediction of a four-pointer.

The Bulls could potentially be knocked out of the play-offs.   If the Reds pick up 5 points in their game and the Sharks does the same,- a mere win with 4 points will leave themt no 7 on the log with the Hurricanes at 8.   A loss would mean they are out of the play-offs completely.    Would not like to see that happening though.

Pretty good call in my book, I'll singalong accepting for the Reds to win with a bonus point and for the Sharks to win by a narrow margin.

I identified this as a possible upset game - but an extremely poor performance by the Brumbies.   I wish the Reds do not get a bonus point and that there are no other upsets.  The Brumbies can be beaten easily by any of the opposing teams - if they play like this in the play-off games.   If the Reds do not score 4 tries - the Sharks and Bulls only need to win in their respective games with the potential mof a Shark-- Brumbies play-off looming.

The next game should be a walk-over for the Crusaders and cannot be anything else.   So I hope we have had two upsets this weekend already - and that is enough in my book.

Its quite simple now mike, Sharks and Bulls must win with bonus points and Stormers need a simple win to give us three in the top six. Reds and Crusaders will host playoff games and they will not be easy ones if our teams get through. Stormers have the easiest run and based on consistency this season, they should win the compo.

My predictions are Crusaders vs Bulls in 1st playoff; Sharks vs Reds in 2nd playoff.

Crusaders to win playoff and beat Chiefs in 1st semi; Sharks to win playoff and lose to Stormers in other semi.

Stormers to beat Crusaders in final at Newlands.

Yep, hakwa, assuming the stormers beat rebels and based on form, i cant see that being a problem.

We have two major upsets this weekend already.   I can only pray that the Sharks and Bulls win with bonus points otherwise one of them will bite the dust.   Inf the Bulls lose - the Sharks will go through - same oother way around.   Unless both teams scor 4 tries and win - it is likely to be the Sharks out as they have a smaller point difference than the Bulls.   Hopefully the Cheetahs under-perform as they did against the Bulls - and the Sharks get the bonus point tries.   You can be sure they will go all out for it.

By the way - as a SA supporter I am sorry that the Reds got a five-pointer.   They would be harder to beat than the Brumbies woould have been.   However, I think both the Waratahs and the Brumbies put uip miserable performances today and so did the Western Force.

Bad news for the four-nations for Australia in the 4 Nations.    Unless th Reds players carry them through - they are dead meat.

Yeah, I know Mike, its been an edgy weekend so far, so I'm hoping the results go our way in the SA games...
