 Malherbe is better than Jannie no contest. Thanks to the injury to Matfield that side is ok, I just can't see Meyer leaving useless Morne out of the starting 15. Pienaar is a weakness and louw and alberts sell us short.  I hope De allende does play 13 he will be great there.
It's a pity Jean is fit, jan would be far better

Jan has been solid at test level but he has done nothing great. 
On most of the attacking moves he is not reading the game to be in the right place to get involved in the final passes to create or score the try. His play making ability has been minimal and more often than not he has just been one to carry up, or to make tackles. So far he has done better in defense than attack.
He is also short on speed and old man Jean will easily outpace him. A young Jean could run faster with his ankles tied together. 

 There's no way Meyer will drop JDV. He's the rock of the Bok backline and as a Kiwi supporter, I'd be delighted to see him out of the game!

I would have liked to see Juan Smith in place of Alberts.

I do rate Jan Serfontein - but I agree with you that at this stage De Villiers is better.  Serfontein is too inclined to crashball - maybe as a result of his Bulls training process.  That means he runs straight at the first defender and does not endeavour to create space for players outside of him.   
The secret really is to run at a slight angle between the two opposition centers and pass or off-load the ball at the right time.  A typical example of what I mean happened in the Sharks game on Saturday - when Jordaan ran at that slight angle, kept up the ball up to the last second and gave a short pass to Sithole.   The defenders were at  sixes and sevens and Sithole broke through the defense and ultimately Zeilinga scored a great backline try.
The secret is basically that the player needs to be able to read the game - something Jean is very adept in doing - Jan less so.  With proper coaching he will develop that aspect of his game as well.   Jan is not as slow as people make him out to be.  I think that the pace issue is a generalization used by some to denigrate players and they use the same generalization in the case of De Allende as well,
Be it as it may - I agree with you about the center selection, but have had res3rvations about Morne Steyn for years and do not think he is the right player for the critical flyhalf position.  Despite every shout and scream to the contrary the fact that Stade Francais in fact prefers Plisson to Steyn as their starting flyhalf show how really limited a flyhalf Steyn is.   I also read the summary of the profile of Morne on the ESPN website and what they say is a total picture of Morne.        
I also disagree with you about Alberts.   The day I see him doing the critical component of loosie play - namely the protection and/or recovery of breakdown balls and show at least some ball handling skills - I may change my mind.   Up to that day - which I don't think will ever come - he remains a low work rate player offering extremely little of value to the team.   It is a mystery to me to understand what Meyer sees in that guy.

Fat Albert has been poor this year and better on slower pitches of the Northern Hemisphere. KFC may finally have gotten the better of him. With Frans Steyn having left the Sharks, Albert must have an unlimited food supply. 
I would have preferred to have a combination of Louw and Marcell to be more competitive at the breakdowns. Neither do much in the lineouts, so this maybe counting against them.
A backrow of Vermulen, Louw and Marcell Cotzee would be very effective at the breakdown. 
Marcell Cotzee had a very good first season. He was poor in his 2nd season where he was just a crash ball extraordinaire. 
In his 3rd season he has added fetching to his game, and he has even started to pass the ball. 
He has a very high work rate, and is also good as an impact player where he makes more tackles than anyone. He must be pushing Louw for the 6 position, but it would be interesting to see them both at the breakdown with Bismaark competing at the breakdown.

 
Any bet's the ancient, useless, plodding Bakkies starts ... ?

I hope the Pumas have come to play a little rugga this time round. Last season they were blown away. Not cause the Boks were that good but rather they were so damn awful.

 There discipline were shocking in the last Pumas test in SA.  Near to half time the score was 6-3 and we were going nowhere fast.  Then one of the blokes knocked down a ball deliberately followed by a yellow card and penalty try.   Score 13 -3.  Playing with 14 men for the enxt ten minutes - they lost the plot.  When the carded player returned - they did not perform on par with the first half.  Another yellow a while later and they went to pieces.  
They nearly beat us In Argentina a week later.   The plodders like Morne Steyn, Bakkies Botha and Fatso Sloth Alberts will not help either.   I would like to see what Meyer comes up with - if he comes up with the above we are going to find a long day at the office.       

Sharktwat you trying to tell us what Jan can and cant do is a bit of a laugh......do you seriously expect us to believe that shit?  

Imagine being a Bok coach and selecting Bakkies on the bench ahead of Paul Willemse - that about sums clueless, useless Meyer up.
