Mike there is a young fast bowler who took 7 wickets on debut. Forget his name but do wonder what happened to him.

Looking at Tahir am I right in saying he is bowling a bit quicker and hence the better results?

What do you think of squad. Wonder where our friend Ek is - knows his cricket and is a great guy.

Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday named an unchanged 15-man squad for the two-match Test Series against India to be played later this month.

The first Test match will be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg from December 18-22 and the second at Kingsmead in Durban from December 26-30.

“We were very happy with the performance of the Proteas in the second Test match at Dubai (against Pakistan),” commented CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson

"We see no need to change something that is operating well.”

Proteas Test squad: Graeme Smith (Cape Cobras, captain), AB de Villiers (Titans, vice-captain), Hashim Amla (Cape Cobras), JP Duminy (Cape Cobras), Faf du Plessis (Titans), Dean Elgar (Knights), Imran Tahir(Highveld Lions), Jacques Kallis (Cape Cobras), Rory Kleinveldt (Cape Cobras), Morné Morkel (Titans), Alviro Petersen (Highveld Lions), Robin Peterson (Cape Cobras), Vernon Philander (Cape Cobras), Dale Steyn(Cape Cobras), Thami Tsolekile (Highveld Lions)

I can't understand why Alviro is still in the team, surely there's better than him around?

Just as I thought, no de Kock in the squad, what a bloody joke.

de Lange has been injured but is back bowling at serious pace. He should be in the squad.

Faf du Plessis, Kleinveldt, Petersen, Peterson and Tsolekile should not be in the squad.

Rossouw, de Kock, Miller, de Lange and Parnell should be in ahead of this lot.

Beenkop, you clearly know nothing about spin bowling........why on earth would bowling quicker make you a better spinner.........what complete rubbish.......did Muri and Shane bowl quicker.......the art of good spin is the perfect loop and imparting rotations on the ball..........a quick spinner is an ineffective one.

I wonder how many times players should fail before they are left out of the squad?   Both Alviro Petersen and Robin Peterson should never be near the squad and Rory Kleinveldt is a joke in bad taste.   Tsolekile is there to ensure that there is a Black in the squad - nothing else.

Matter of fact the above squad has some very good players of Colour - but some of those are there beause they are Coloureds - for no other reason.

Not expected that they would select De Kock for the test side as stated elsewhere.

Would appear that the new coach needs to be sacked before he begins

I do not think the coach has much say in squad selection - the Chairman of the selection Committee is Hudson and there two other members, wit the coach as an ex-officio member.  The coach gets the squad and he selects his team from the squad members as provided.

Cannot blame the coach at this stage for the squad as provided - what is for sure there is a hell-of-lot of politics involved here.
