Johann Sadie 9Malmesbury ) and Francois Hougaard(Paarl) return from injury and suspension respectively to take their place in the Bulls’ run-on side to face the Reds.
Sadie injured his shoulder in round one of the tournament and hasn’t played since, while Hougaard was punished for a dangerous tackle on Robert Ebersohn three weeks ago.
Sadie starts at outside centre and partners Wynand Olivier in midfield, with Francois Venter dropping out of the squad completely. Hougaard replaces Jano Vermaak at scrumhalf.
In the forwards, CJ Stander starts at openside flank in the absence of Deon Stegmann and Arno Botha comes onto the bench to provide cover for the loose trio.
Bulls – 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 Pierre Spies (c), 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 CJ Stander, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Dean Greyling.
Subs: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 19 Arno Botha, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Louis Fouché, 22 JJ Engelbrecht.
Strong side without the weak links stegsies and potty. spesies still hangs on to the captaincy and provided the other 14 players do their bit he will be hailed as a legend much as wee victoria was.
Interesting to note where the "bulle' backline hail from:
Hougaard (Paarl W Cape)
Morne Steyn (Belville (WC)
Olivier (Welkom)
Sadie (Malmesbury (WC)
Basson (Kingwiliamstown but ex Griquas)
Kirchner (George but ex Griquas)
Vermaak (Graff Reinet but ex Lions)
JJ Engelbrecht (Port Elizabeth but ex WP)
Louis Fouche - PRETORIA - WELL DONE BULLE!!!!!!! One of your backs come from Pretoria that gold mine of talent. Bwahahahahahahahhaha
Wonder where the forwards come from!
