Well theres a thought to ponder...... but really who...?

Mowen's call obviously about the $$ and who can blame him if the ARU cant find the cash to keep the captain then obviously theres some real problems in rugby in Australia....

Quade Cooper as Wallabies captain would be like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse . . . but it worked for your cricket team when they did the same thing with Ricky Ponting so it's probably worth a shot.

Until Oz gets some of their key players back they will not be able to challenge the ABs or the Boks. Novelties like making QC captain aren't worth much IMO.

How the mighty have fallen since John Eales and Georgie Gregan...the Wallabies once proud record and great captains with the first WC two wins have now sunk to such low ebb with a scoundrel and ruffian as Quade Cooper as suggested captain candidate...God forbid, how bloody awful...the red-neck working class hero.

Hope some polish comes back into Australian rugby union.

horwil will be captain, he was only demoted so that he can concentrate on his game which has been kak on every level for the last two years.

back in 2011 horwill wasnt just one of the best locks in the world, he was one of the best captains too.

but how would NZ born quade cooper go as a wally captain??? IMO he would rpob go all right.
i believe the positive change weve seen in him this year is genuine which is good for the wallys, and i think a large part of the credit goes to SBW.
anyone who can remember SBW back when he was at the bulldogs knows thats the SBW then and the SBW now are two completely different people, professionalism at its finest.

but i dont think its a good idea to make cooper captain cos i dont think a flyhalf should ever be captain.
they have enough on their plate running the backline and being first reciever without the added burden of leading his side.

Every country has it's cocky fuckheads mate. Anyone who takes the words of one and applies that characterisation to a whole nation is more than likely to be mentally handicapped. So stoke the jealous fires of all the haters who wish they lived here, who wished they were us: Aussies born and bred.

NZ r so awesome at League they got flogged lsat year 42 -6 by Aus then flogged 36 - 6 by Eng bwhahahahahaha. In the last 2 years NZ have only beaten Wales bwhahahahaha yeah real world champs. Aus are shit at Rugby yet we have the same amount of RWC as NZ and we didnt need to wait for the WC to come to our country to win them bwahahaha

@admit one,

using rugby league accomplishments to try and belittle NZ by comparing them to OZ is laughable considering this is a union thread, its the same as those trying to use cricket to get one up.
fail.

NZ with its minute population dosent have the man power to be powerhouses in multiple sports. but our precious, the one sport above all sport aka rugby union, well now thats where the nation of 4 million kiwis spread their wings and fly to every rugby corner on the planet and dominate and u need only look at our titles plus trophy cabinet to know this,,,
2011 RWC - All Blacks
2013 spXV - chiefs (NZs 12th title in 18 years)
IRB No1 rank - All Blacks (almost 90% of the time)
2013 RC/4nats - All Blacks (undefeated)
2013 bledisloe
2013 freedom cup
2013 hillary shield
2013 gallgher cup
2013 All Blacks won all their tests for a perfect 100% season (only team to ever do so)
2012/2013 7s world series (11th title from 14 attempts)
2013 7s RWC
2012/2013 womens 7s world series
2013 womens 7s RWC

so how does a nation of 4 million become the benchmark by which all other rugby union teams measure themselves???

the aussies will always be our better in rugby league, but how can it not be when u look at the population of league participants.

OZ
466,182 registered players
51,540 registered adult players

NZ
24,000 registered players
3,300 adult registered players

considering there is just under 30,000 more male adults playing league then all of NZ, its surprising NZ are able to win anything in league, so being former RLWC sits very comfortably with us, especially as that RLWC was won in australias rugby league centenary year, LMAO.

rugby union has a similar registered players situation, where nearly all tier one nations including OZ have a bigger adult population playing rugby union compared to NZ.

NZ more then hold their own in the world of sports, NZ spent over 100 million dollars to send train and send its olympic athletes to the london 2012 olympics, while australia spent close to half a billion, yet somehow u walked away with 7 golds, while NZ went home with 6, o_O

kiwis have always punched above their weight, but thankfully in our chosen major of rugby union, we have no equal as we force all to bow down.
