its seems that this weekend is goign to provide Drongo Deans ample evidence as to which is Australia's premier 5/8 with JOC v QC in Rebels v Reds.

I've no doubt QC will be out to prove that Drongo is holding a personal grudge and that will play the house down. Incidentally qC does enjoy playing @ Suncorp but with a 2week stint of africa in the near past the team will be a littel jaded.

Ex-Red Higgin last week led the Rebels to a well deserved victory over Tahs so having career best form he will again lead and inspire the rebels.

This game will be worth watchig purely for the QC / JOC matchup - which hopefully will show the depth of wallabies @ 10 but also give a glimpse of the talent that can be unleashed post-deans cancer is excised.

I admit that I sometimes get a little partisan but this game should suffice in the settling the matter for the next month or so of Lions games. Remembering of course that JOC is a Qld product nonetheless...

The Reds didnt convince against the Stormers but then the Stormes with their defence often make sides look bad. No the ytrvel back  to OZ. Hard game for them against high flying Rebels.

Both guys have talent and some different strengths etc.  Cooper will have to play well to convince Deans. He needs a big defensive effort and sound decision making. Deans thinks he is a bit too up and down. From what I have seen Cooper looks more composed these days.

It will be a huge match for them both. Both are quality players regardless of who gets the wallaby nod. Best of luck Redsman.

Quade Cooper does not have a civil tongue in his head.

He shows no respect to anyone and as far as I'm concerned ... talented or not ... should not be selected into the Wallaby squad because of it.

He divides a team when he should unite them.

He tried his damndest to get the Ozzie nation against Deans. Concocted some bullshit story about a toxic enviroment to cover up his own short comings and his dismal performance at the last WC..

The man's a liability ... an awful example for youngsters to follow ...  and sadly just doesn't have what it takes to be a threat at international level.

QC has got a certain streak of unpredictability but it is this that makes him the player he is. There must have been some heavy stuff going on in wallaby camp last year for him to go public re 'toxic' comments. And incidentally shortly after John Oniell was sacked. I would have thought Deans too but for John Oniell already committing to 2014 with clause stating end of 2013 unless victory v Lions/ABs. There is no doubt that Link (ewen Mck) and QC would be tight as the rest of the Reds contingent and Link has a lot to gain with Deans' demise. Reality is that Deans' success @ Canterbury was due to the player squad he had at his disposal not necessarily his coaching... Link has taken Reds from cellar dwellers to premiers in 2seasons and made them competitive every season he has been there. This shows his coaching credentials. AS an ardent wallaby supporter I would prefer to see Link as national coach with the best 5/8 playing in the position - be it JOC /QC or other.... I think JOC will probably be OK @ 5/8 but Deans track record with other talented players that tested his ego all point to the fact that he is the wrong man for Wallaby job. Eg Giteau QC isn't liked by kiwis due to a number of reasons but no doubt the kiwi propaganda surrounding RWC 11 was the big reason for the hatred. McCaw has done his share of cheapshots on QC amongst dozens of others but the Aussie media isn't victimising him like they did QC.... QC at the reds obviously is a key part of the TEAM and Genia has already said theres no played hed rather have at 10 for the wallabies... Its seems kiwis don't like him for any number of prejudicial reasons - including Deans. But watch Saturday nite and I think QC will light it up and show JOC whos number 1 5/8...

JOC has BMT....he showed it in the RWC. QC has little BMT....he showed it in the RWC.

Redsman … I enjoyed your post.

To the point, factual, no whining … a good read.

Can’t believe I’m saying that.

I see your point and accept that Deans hasn’t brought much to the Ozzie team these last few years. One has to be fair though. You guys have had an awful amount of injuries and no matter the coach, pulling a rabbit out of a hat is a little difficult if you don’t have the hat.

There is more to this than the Cooper/Deans personality clash and his subsequent exclusion. I think the mere fact that an outsider has been picked as head coach has rubbed a few of you ozzies up the wrong way.

Perhaps it is time Deans takes his walking papers and leaves. That’s for the Ozzie administrators to decide and with a passionate fan such as yourself, loudly voicing your disapproval of the man, perhaps it will come sooner than expected.

I still rate Deans as a class coach, quite capable of leading the Wallabies to victory if given a fair shake.

Yes it is far easier to coach a team full of talented players like the Crusaders and take them to heights previously unknown, than it is to bring a team of nobodies to the fore like “Link” did with the Reds.

Having said that, would that perhaps indicate that you guys don’t have the vast talent available to what we see across the Tasman? Maybe you guys are just going through a dry spell and no matter the coach, a dry spell it’ll remain!!??

With the general consensus that all Ozzies want Deans’ head, why is it that he’s still at the helm? Somebody has faith in the man. How much longer does he have on his contract?

What I don’t understand from you is your support of the cowardly Cooper. One would think that consistency would be highly sought after and let’s face it O’Connor oozes class, consistently, week in week out … Cooper on the other hand does not. He fires hot and cold and cannot be relied upon. Even you must agree with me on this … surely??

Perhaps you've jumped onto the Cooper bandwagon merely to get rid of Deans. For the life of me, I cannot see any other reason for your support of this chump.

CC it appears that QC does well enough at the Reds in terms of getting on with the coach and players?

Your take on QC is harsh and over the top.

Sooooooooo ... getting on with the coach and the other players is reason enough to be selected then, huh??

I see!!

My bad ... I always thought that talent played a role in selection.

Qc is remarkebly like ol spencer back in his day, but i think spencer was more talented imo but neither were that reliable or that good when under the pump of international rugby. Oc is the better choice and more likely to win you the game when scores are tied and 2 mins to go and is also a smart young decent lad who has earned his chance.

Quick question: Who has Mcaw cheap shoted? I dont recall.
