We will know on Friday what level the Queens are, and to what degree we can expect them to be Destroyed next year.

Cheetahs pick their best for playoff 17 October 2012, 14:47

Toyota Free State Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske has chosen his strongest available side for their crucial Absa Currie Cup promotion/relegation playoff against the EP Kings in Bloemfontein on Friday.

The Bloemfontein-based side play host for the first of two playoff games to decide whether they will remain in the premier division or be relegated to the first division.

The Cheetahs had one of their most successful Super Rugby seasons this year, but they have struggled to reproduce the same form in the Currie Cup.

Winning only three of their 10 encounters, relegation beckons if the Free State side cannot produce the goods agains the Kings.

The hosts will need to make do without one of their stalwarts, prop Coenie Oosthuizen, who picked up a lower back injury in the Free State side's loss to Western Province last week.

"It is regretable that Coenie isn't available," Drotske said on Wednesday.

"His loss is a big one, especially for the Springboks and the end-of-year tour.

"We would have looked to him to give the scrums substance, but now he is unavailable.

"We have to face problems like these and keep looking forward."

Toyota Cheetahs team: Hennie Daniller, Nico Scheepers, Robert Ebersohn, Andries Strauss, Raymond Rhule, Sias Ebersohn, Sarel Pretorius, Phillip van der Walt, Lappies Labuschange, Hendro Scholtz, Izak van der Merwe, Francois Uys, Ross Geldenhuys, Adriaan Strauss (captain), Marcel van der Merwe.

Replacements: Hercu Liebenberg, Schalk van der Merwe, Carl Wegner, Davon Ruabenheimer, Tewis du Bruyn, Phillip Snyman, Rayno Benjamin.

saSUE unfortunately with 13 squad members out injured this is hardly the Cheetahs strongest match 22. Nevertheless I expect them to win.

Its amazing to think that all this bad feeling could have been avoiided simply by having a relgation match against the Lions the Super 15 spot. I still think there is a possibility of SARFU being sued as it is likely the queens will get thumped in the super 15.

We shall see.
