Queens worried about fatigue in Curry Cup Playoffs?

The EP Kings will play home and away relegation/promotion matches against the Free State Cheetahs who have played a season of Currie Cup Premier Division Rugby as well as a full season of Super Rugby.

The Kings have been promoted to Super Rugby for next year and won the Currie Cup first division after going unbeaten in 16 matches.

Solomons says that there are pros and cons to playing as many matches as they have this season.

“Yes we have to generate some momentum," Solomons told Eye Witness news.

"We have to go into this game in a positive frame of mind. "

"We have played now 16 games in a row and when we complete these two games it will be 18 matches without a break. "

"Obviously to that extent the Cheetahs have only had to play 10 (Currie Cup) games. Which means the playing field is not exactly level."

They are in for a walloping this coming Friday - as well as in Super 15 - where they will achieve the previously unachievable - no points at all on the Super 15 log - with a record negative point difference of at least 500 points.

the cheetahs outgunned them technically and where way more skillfull than them. bottomline...i for one would love to see the EP get there house in order and be more a force there is a lot of rugby talent there but they are way off the benchmark. they have a decent coaching structure going but lack some serious players to be a force.

Always also remember it is a view of many that the Log Toppers of the Super 15  should also get  a trophy.

Yes I would like a better coach but this business about no trophies is ludicrous.  Give me a SA Conference win before the Currie Cup anyday!!

i will admit its a great feat to top your log but that in itself does not warrant a major cup win because there is not knockout phase of rugby binded to it.

the win of the vodacom cup is more worth in terms of silverware than the conf cup ironicly enough. the currie cup is the oldest comp in the world so there is no way that a second string award like the conf cup is more worth than a currie cup. one cant replace the prestige nor the history that comes with it. the greats of sa rugby has engraved the legacys in the currie cup.

Alistair was a quot aappointment becuase wh ewa sappointe dafter his stint as Bok backline coach where he folpped. Backline coaching i shis speciality and even toda yit i sclear the backline of the Stormers has bot functioned.

So Bongi he is a quota coach  - end of story. Maybe he is learning a bit? However at this level only top coaches  shoul be appointed to a top franchise liek the Mighty Stormers. It slike the present Bok backline coach  loubscher - what did he do to deserve such an appointment. This is a fatal flaw in SA today. Government services suffer, business suffers etc etc etc. A disastorous policy. SA slides down various indices etc etc.
