How do you practice steering a maul? are there specific calls you make that help more than others?

This is question 4/4 for now, I'll probably have some more in the future, but I hope this sparks some talk.

In South Africa, we have 3 maul calls....

"pale toe" - means towards the poles

"voorentoe" - means straight ahead

"fok hulle op" - tighten up and press

For other coaching advice, you should drop saffex a mail... dsearle@sarugby.com or david. searle@irb.com

The kid sounds like he really does want advice and he has come here be cause SA has the best locks in the world. I take it that 04 in his name means that he's 16.

Lesson 1, the world will often reward pragmatism with sarcasm, bud. Stay your course though.

Cumon Draad and Beeno, help the chap out.
